Because Davis is not hyped enough. P4P is an opinion. I don't care what that says. I don't have a P4P BS, but I have a top 10 best fighters in the world, and Davis in there.

BoxRec has Floyd The Best Ever. You agree with it? That's what I think of rankings.
When every reputable boxing outlet/website lists Loma as the one of the top P4P in the world there might be something to it, wont you agree? Just compare the level of his opposition to Tanks. Tank has faced one decent name, Loma faced 5+.

Nobody is talking about his flaws in the ring, the reality is that he is being protected from real opponents in his own division, bringing up undersized dudes who are coming from a loss is terrible and theres no way to look bad against the #37 ranked fighter who was coming up 1-2 weight classes.

Wouldnt you have celebrated when Floyd or Tank announced that he wants to face Loma next? Or Berchel? Arent you totally dissappointed that they were making excuses and probably have him fight undersized Mares next who is damaged goods?

Imagine that certain people here are actual boxing fans and not just nationalistic diggriders, people want to see the best vs the best at their best. Tank vs Loma or Berchelt, or even Farmer next would be a good fight or not? I dont get people like you defending more mismatches just because you like a fighter.

And by the way I think Lomo beats him.
No sweat brother. None of us know anything until we find it out....

I know floyds one of the greatest ever. But no man gets a pass for talking bull shlt in my book. Promoter or not. Davis is a champ. When you're a champion it's Your duty to take on the best. Other wise stay a contender. In my opinion. No disrescpet to you. It's all love. We are just talking boxing

Thanks. This is a good post.

People here know I never defend mismatches and was one of the first to critique the Mares fight harshly. And, I'm not defending him on racial or nationalistic reason. Screw that BS.

Loma-Davis will happen. Why are people crying?

Yes, true, and a good post.

My answer is he's a champ at 130. Is Loma moving down or does Davis have to move up to challenge Loma? Are they fighting for the best fighter in the world? I'm confused!

Yes, I want the fight now too!

In his entire career Floyd only faced 3 undefeated opponents and all of them were fighting at a huge disadvantage.

Hatton, champion at superlightweight was forced to move up a whole weightclass to face the much bigger Floyd.

Canelo who was even younger than Tank, still growing and could barely make 154 was forced to drain himself to 152.

Corrales had significant weight problems prior to the Floyd fight, he wanted the fight to happen at 135 but Floyd demanded the fight to happen at 130 and that showed in the fight.

Here is a good article about it: https://lasvegassun.com/news/2001/ja...les-fight-flo/

Larry, you dont want to see the best vs best AT THEIR BEST, you only care about your idols/heroes to win, no matter what, and no matter the advantages. Floyds resume looks good when you dont know the context, if you analyze it its not.

I'd be thrilled as hell to see Davis vs Tiofilmo Lopez! or against Haney and the winner gets Lom or Comey! I never let my enthusiasm revolve around just one fight because one guy and lose on the way to a superfight and then poof, it is gone. I would rather see Davis vs Lopez because someone becomes a superstar in a guarantee KO fight! But Davis fighting a kickboxer who Floyd just beat doesnt work for boxing fans.

No one has to move. Fight where you're comfortable. They were both at 130 Davis said he didn't want it. I bet Loma would move down for the fight. In reality, in my opinion, Davis and floyd are painting davis in the coner by mentioning Loma, or claiming superiority. If I was team Davis i would just say, "he's 135 I'm 130." If you down loma you have opened yourself up for people to say, "well fight him"

Canelo made 153 the fight before floyd..

corrales stayed at 130 and even became champ again after that fight

Hatton was already a title holder at 147 before facing floyd..stop the excuses
