Are their figures out there suggesting or saying for a fact how much Joshua is being paid?

I am obviously sure Joshua is the 2nd highest paid guy on DAZN, but I don't recall hearing anything pinpointing how much he's getting from them or maybe from Hearn's cut idk how that'd work exactly.

That was the US package. I don't even know if DAZN is running in Japan yet, if it is, it probably already had the MLB package.

They will cancel the subscription after that.
Jacobs is a legit enough opponent for it to do good numbers.

100% guaranteee that it does good numbers on DAZN.

Does that mean they expect / need 20 million subscribers to break even to cover their boxing budget l. That’s asking a lot especially with what they’ve put on so far

I’m their target audience and should be throwing
My $ at them and I still haven’t bought it because it’s been almost all trash fights. So far FS1 has and will have better matchups then what their putting on at DAZn

Ill probably try it out though for the Canelo / Jacobs fight and If the second round of the WBSS gets off the ground
They dont need 20 mio individual subscribers though. Subscription based services are banking on their subscribers to maintain their services, either because they like the product they are offering or because they are too lazy/or forget to cancel their subscription.

Without factoring other costs (marketing, paying your worker, server costs) they need around 1,7 mio full year subscriber to break even with their 200 mio budget.

The dazn produced boxing matches are also available on all their other regions. I happily pay my 10€ a month for boxing content, because there is next to no boxing coverage in my country other than dazn.
So theoretically, every subscriber globally, who subscribes because of their increased boxing content, contributes to their boxing budget.

What ARE good numbers for DAZN?

With there not being anyone, that I know of anyway, doing Neilsen-like ratings for apps is there anyway to legitimize the numbers that people claim for DAZN that either seem really bad or really good this early in their US run?

I guess not all announced officially yet so some of these may not happen ; obviously some are bigger than others - it it looks the strongest of all the networks to me at moment.

                Canelo vs Jacobs
                Joshua vs Miller
                Usyk vs tbc
                Andrade vs BJS?
                Whyte vs Povetkin/Brezeale?
                WBS season II
                Brook vs Vargas
                Bivol vs Joe Smith
                Farmer vs Carroll
Potentially GGG and Klitschko but neither yet confirmed.

For the more hardcore there are a couple of really good uk matchroom cards - but without th real household names; depends on how much you love boxing!

I swear to God this amounts to a hostile takeover of the boxing industry. Good for boxers though!

Oscar and Manny can not be in the same bracket to be honest. The Goldenboy fought top opponents almost all the way through his career, Manny, long before the Mayweather "rivalry" had cemented his legacy with fights against Barrera, Morales and Marquez, oft times being the under dog. Remember, Manny was never supposed to be the star.

The real issue was investing, or rather, dumping huge money into someone like JOnes, who never really drew big crowds, was never a true PPV star and missed out on facing the best opponents of his time.

Sounds a lot like Mayweather, who just happened to be within divisional reach of Oscar and allowing him to become a PPV star. Look at the guys he fought on PPV, Baldomir, Ortiz, Guerrero...too much put in, too little taken back.

The problems only intensified by trying to create the next US star, with Ward becoming the beneficiary of ****** sums of money in a career with maybe 3 truly top level opponents.

All these companies, DAZN, PBC, etc etc will learn the hard way.
