I get a sense that’s a common feeling among many veterans in the sport if their being honest. I’ve heard Lara basically say the same thing

Can you blame them though. Getting punched in the face for a living and the gruelling training regiment probably loses some lustre once you start entering your 30s and probably difficult to maintain the same hunger and drive that they’d have in their teens & 20s

But for the elites they probably just treat it like its just A job , that pays them more then they’d make doing anything else

Both have an equal chance, and both know how to fight dirty. Re-watch (or watch) Maidana vs Floyd I, and Horn vs Pac.

Man I like Chino, but I don't know how good of an idea this is or if he can even be half of what he once was.

... OK... (as about Lara: he, at least, was naturally gifted for this sport!...)

First of all Ill take Horn over Marco in 2019 sorry for the reality check. It be at least 2020 until Marcos gonna be in shape to handle that work. 2020 probably too late but better late then never, Just a realist here.

Horn was beat up by Crawford but he beat he Manny fair and square. It was close but he beat him. I'm sure Horn would fight Marco @154 or 147 ****e horn looking for another payday. Horn not the best but better then folks make him out to be.
Even if you had him losing to Manny it was close probably just a Pac - ahalolic. If there's still interest in Mandina vs Broner (2) Knock your self out. Why not Mandina vs Kahn then...

Yeah for sure , You get to the level these guys are at and even if they don’t like or enjoy the sport anymore, what other occupation are there for these guys that’ll pay anywhere near as much , They get by on their skills not their passion for the sport

They basically treat it like how most people treat their job. The passions gone but it pays the bills so they keep doing it. But if they could find something that’d pay them the same or more they wouldn’t be doing it

As I remember (but it's possible I got this wrong), Maidana once said that he never liked boxing, but he did it because he needed to earn money somehow...

Yeah I think I remember that also

Makes sense though , These guys are super talented and they can make good $ from it. It doesn’t mean they actually like or care and have a passion for what they do like we fans would expect them to have.

Just a J-O-B to them that pays well.

Over 4 years out is way too long esp living the life he was living.. not like he kept himself in shape and trained. I can see the lure of Haymon with the broner rematch always going to be a payday but seriously cant see him making it back successfully. His trainer always said he was only in the sport for the money cant see him having the desire to do well on his return. Will most likley look a complete shadow of himself.
