Obviously Ortiz doesn’t carry the same commercial leverage not being either American or loud talking like Miller. In fact Ortiz needs a translator, hence such a small payday versus Wilder. Not only that but British fans have seen him fight when he came to matchroom and to be quite frank, he sent people to sleep , not what anyone had anticipated. So it’s not the best fight to sell to either uk or USA market.



I do hope this fight happens further down the line though and if fury and wilder end up in a trilogy (quite possible they both get rematch clauses) then it probably would be between Usyk, Whyte and Ortiz for AJ later in the year - assuming he beats Miller

He was banned not for life. And Lamont Peterson was a drug cheat too, isn’t he fighting again? So your argument is muted. Ortiz was a drug cheat and he went over to the WBC when he got stripped of his mandatory and got his chance against Wilder, Povetkin was a drug cheat, he might not be ban but he went over to the WBA and got his chance later on just like Ortiz. When they both fought Wilder and Joshua they were tested and clean... So you have no point.
