Jacobs should count as a defense, he is one of the best and a lot of people wouldnt pick Jermall to beat him.

I had to look up all this nonsense and looks like Jermall has the "interm" WBC belt while Canelo has the "real" WBC belt.

This chit is ******, way to many sub belts now from the same ABC organization.

WBC will probably just give GGG a "super duper ruby" belt if Canelo wants to fight him and then make that as a defense. They get paid as a percentage of the purse so..... something has to pay for Sullivan's fat ass to eat.

also lol at WBC "allowed" Canelo to fight Fielding, sure that fight was a farce but he took that fight 3 months to the day after the GGG fight and at an entirely different weight fighting for a WBA belt. WBC should have no say, he could have just fought nobody from Sep to May and it would be the same thing. WBC should only care if its for one of their belts, which that was not.

Why is Canelo afraid of Charlo, his team must see something wrong in this clash.

Never. They will make some kind of special exception. They love Canelo. If they stripped him nobody would recognize the new champion anyway.

I'd expect the WBC will setup a new eliminator at some point with Charlo vs someone else cuz I think Team GGG turned down that fight officially or unofficially so it obviously isn't happening.

And then another eliminator if Charlo wins that one if necessary lol.

Wasn't there some guy who'd fought & win a few eliminators for a title shot in a row in the last couple years that maybe never even got a title shot for as much as I recall the situation? Forgetting the name of the guy but I'm sure there was a cat who kept being carroted with eliminators towards a title shot I'm not sure he actually got.
Yup it was the guy Charlo KOd in his first fight at 160. Heiland had been fighting eliminators for awhile. Ironically, GGG should have never even been given the chance to fight for the WBC title as Marco Rubio was the interim champ and the WBC never allowed other champs to be made mandatory for their title. Heiland and Rubio got screwed by the WBC in order for Cotto, GGG and Canelo could fight for it. JUst like they're now screwing with Charlo, he was supposed to be the mandatory after he beat Heiland. Then they made him fight an eliminator against Centeno and now they want him to fight an eliminator against GGG when they already made him interim champ. WBC trying to cash in on fights instead of enforcing their rules.

Actually Charlo has been the mandatory for the WBC title twice. He beat Heiland who had been the WBC mandatory for awhile. Charlo would have been the mandatory for the GGG/Canelo winner. Yet the WBC didn't enforce it and ordered a rematch for Canelo/GGG. Charlo then beat Centeno to be the interim champ and be mandatory again. Again WBC allowed GGG to fight Canelo. WBC had Charlo fight Korovob for another eliminator to fight the winner of GGG/Canelo again, yet WBC still didn't enforce it and are making Charlo/GGG fight for a mandatory spot to face Canelo.

No. They shouldn't. Jacobs is a unification fight so that shouldn't really count as a defense.

Exactly my point... the Charlo/GGG eliminator becomes Canelo’s mandatory. As far as right now, Charlo is not his mandatory just the interm WBC MW champ.
