With Canelo swearing that he would never fight for a WBC belt again because they were a corrupt organisation.

Canelo never said he "wouldn't fight for the WBC ever again." He said no organization was going to coerce him into something he won't agree to. Canelo was always on record to say he was in litigation with his previous promoters in an 8million dollar lawsuit while the WBC forced GBP and Loeffler into the bid. Canelo vacated the WBC. Since that time Canelo was always rejecting the WBC belt given that years conflict.

Surely the WBC sat with Oscar and Canelo and apologized, including all the times Mauricio tried to provide those free gift Aztec belt trinkets to hopefully get Canelo's forgiveness. It's rather obvious.

Doesn’t hide the fact that the BS the WBC pulled with Martinez, Cotto and Canelo. And by “coerce” you mean make him fight his mandatory like every other sanctioning body does?

To be fair, the WBA, WBO, and IBF all operate differently, same goes with the WBC. Just giving facts that Canelo never said he will "never fight the green belt."
