Cotto was looking at his corner begging for them to throw in the towel in the Marg fight. Marg beat him up worse than Pacquiao did.

It was an incredible fight and the type of performance that had the Mayweather camp wanting drug tests to face the Filipino. That’s when “take the test” came out all the time with Mayweather fans and other fans were like “why should he, Mayweather is not the boxing commission”

Crazy to see how it’s all changed today, no doubt that saga was the precursor to it all.. I was rooting for Cotto, thought he looked great at the weigh in and sharp in the beginning of the fight, then Pac-Man took it another level. I was legitimately shocked and became a big fan ever since

That was asked for way before the Cotto fight. JMM did the testing in the Mayweather fight which happened before Pacquiao-Cotto.

simple examples of USADA dates back to Mosley vs Canelo. If it were easier to avoid anything to do with testing to have an advantage there wouldn’t have been such testing.

Mayweather started the narrative. He deserves a lot of credit. In all fairness, if two stars are planning mega millions then why would anybody have a fit over testing? It doesn’t make any sense. All the excuses that Top Rank had only gets archives in the history of boxing. How is it a coincidence advance testing for boxing started after 2010 when such narratives came into play

It’s amazing that Top Rank said no to Olympic Style testing while Dan Rafae at the time was shilling and showing off his connect with Bob Arum. So sad that industry knew regulation for advanced drug testing was non existent. What sports writer would defend another fighter and complain about Olympic style testing or that a fighter wasn’t required to do so? Dan Rafael has matured since

Paul Williams died with his eyes open vs Sergio

Pac himself looked like he died vs JMM.

All those are worse than Cotto who did get quite the ass whoopin..but at least he remembers it.
Exactly the one I was thinking of. That, and when Lennox iced Haseem in the re-match. Those were the two loudest knockouts I can remember

No cause cotto was never a p4p level fighter. Just look at his resume lol, he struggled repeatedly against B level fighters throughout his whole career and lost almost every time badly to the elite fighters. And every time he lost excuses got made.
