He absolutely got his ass kicked the first 6 rounds. Just how it was. I was surprised too. They both came in at equal billing but once Ward felt Kov's power in round 1 he was basically just surviving the first 6 rounds. Anyone saying otherwise is a mental midget or lying.

Best post so far. Clearly how it went. Kovalev won at least 5 out of the first 6 rounds and then won the tenth clearly with about 3 swing rounds that could go either way.

He truly is a casual . I mean sub 80 iQ is definitely thstvif he thought Ward won those rounds. It’s a disgrace he uses the name Harry Greb, maybe one of the best fighters who ever lived.

Ward was one of the most overrated frauds of this generation. The son of a white man who was marketed to the African American fanbase because they had no other talent to root for above welterweight.

Hey man you and I get it, and I know many others do too. I agree with you 100%. Some people are unable to objectively look at Ward's situation, I think, because they are so consumed by race. But when you just analyze his fights, if you didn't know who he was, you would be amazed at how heralded he is and also some of the scorecards he has received. I remember watching his Barrera fight and thinking 'this is the guy?' lol. He hardly had any real separation against Barrera or Bika.

In all of his fights against top fighters (Froch, Kov, Kov, Barrera, Bika, Kessler etc) in all of those rounds I have literally seen a few rounds where I thought it was a clear Ward round. He just is not anything special boxing wise, and has benefited from being the home fighter and being propped up to be the next Mayweather so he could make the business a lot of money, as you suggested.

But at least some of us see it for what it is lol. He is a tough fighter, and pretty smart in the ring, and seems like a decent guy outside of it. But completely protected and aided as a boxer and he also seems to think he is brilliant, and just comes across as a halfway crook to me. He will just lie about stuff and anyone with an average IQ will be like 'hey that's not true' yet some people will just eat it up because they are unable to analyze thing objectively.

Haha thanks man. I remember after the fight, everyone knew Kov won. Now some people are trying to rationalize Ward winning or it even being close.

But yeah it was pretty clear wasn't it - 5-1 after 6 was the only real score and imo it was closer to being 6-0 than 4-2. The 10th round for Kov was the only clear one in the last 6.

So that gives Kov 6 clear rounds and Ward 0 or 1. If you give Ward 3/5 other close rounds that's pretty generous, and that's what I did originally. I think 8-3-1 was probably the best score (splitting the other 5 rounds) but yeah I can't even really see Ward getting to 5 rounds let alone 7.

Lol from reading your other posts it is obvious you are one of those dumb English posters. A lot of people in the UK are cool and know their boxing. And then there are people like you, who wouldn't know their elbow from their ******* yet act like they have a 3rd eye for scoring fights. Anyone giving Ward move than 4 rounds in the 1st fight does not deserve to be taken seriously on anything related to boxing.

Ward outlanded kovalev in the 3rd and 5th rounds and had a better connect percentage in 11 of the 12 rounds. Over to you.

I had it 114-113 ward. It was a very close fight and I don't have have a problem with a draw or a close kovalev decision.
Ward outlanded kovalev in rd 3 and rd 5 so to say that kovalev won "at least 5 of the first 6 rounds" is rubbish. Ward also outlanded kovalev in 6 of the 12 rounds and has a better connect percentage in 11 of the 12 rounds with the 2nd round being the obvious exception.
The myth that kovalev dominated ward is not backed up by the stats.

Exactly! Years ago I was wondering what all the fuss was about when Ward won the super six, which in fact was the super 9 since three subs were included:

His fights were marred with horrendous head buts and fouls that should have been a DQ but fighting every fight in Oakland made it possible to win those fights dirty.

His outright ducking and refusal to fight Lucien Bute, who was not invited by Hershman, who was Wards de facto manager, Ward admitted he wouldn’t fight Bute. Guy was constantly cherry picking guys he could beat like Dawson who he refused to fight at 175, made him drain to 168 and was a complete farce.

Then the Kovalev debacle where Ward was clearly defeated, but since Ward who is half African American and despite being the son of a white man, was given the dubious decision in order to get that Mayweather demographic, the non boxing fan who were just pro black supremacists looking to hang their hat on someone besides Mayweather.

This is an era where African American boxers are being exposed by the Eastern European and Asian demographic because their culture is much more conducive to combat sports. Inner city culture has devolved into this entitlement culture of doing the least amount of work and getting the most amount of credit. It’s a joke.
