Gervonta is top 5 pound 4 pound talent in the last 20 years. Most of you have never laced them up and are internet freaks who bash everyone.

So you're saying Davis is one of the top 5 fighters in the last 20 years??

That is a just hunch on your part. It could be true BUT probably (imo) is not. How about he fights a little first?

The opponent? Go look at the guy Loma's fighting next. Crolla is 10 times worse than Mares.

Only was this fight can be good is if Davis has weight issues then he will have to stop a possible upset

What a ****** comment. How is his career embarrassing??? With just 16 fights he annihilated Jose Pedraza who was an undefeated champion and former Olympian. Next fight KO'd his next top undefeated challenger in Liam Walsh in just 3 rounds, next fight he KO'd another undefeated challenger in Fransico Fonseca. That's 3 0's in a row he's taken. In his next fight he annihilates a former world champion in Jesus Cuellar in just 3 rounds. If you ask me, he's done damn good in just 20 fights and still in his early 20's

Davis is the goods. I hope he makes the Mares fight harder than it needs to be. No quick KOs, learn from the vet, and enjoy yourself. Get the rounds in!

Davis is definitely looking like a fighter who could one day be great, but he needs to fight much more often, and needs to rack up some higher level scalps.

                      If If If

It is great to think positive and to appreciate the skill in which some young men can punch someone in the face... but life has complexity and many traps even for those who appear destined for greatness. The first thing Mr Davis has to do is understand that in a numbers game one should try to set it up so everything they can control is in their favor.

I don't know how much Mr Davis does in this regard but here is some things I would have to say...He better do to give himself a chance.

                      a. Fight Fight and Fight... don't worry about any undefeated crap, the best fighters ever took an L occasionally. Hank Armstrong, who won many many fights in many many divisions...if memory serves correct, lost his first few fights. A young fighter needs to learn his craft by fighting, and fighting a lot. Against all kinds of opponents.

                      b. Get the hell out of Baltimore ASAP! Did I say ASAP? because I meant sooner than that! Dude...borrow Shazam's cape, and thunderclap your @33 out of there! Now, maybe years down the road, when living in Howard county, or something, Tank can fight in the area to give something back...like Ward did. Im all for that. BUt as a young man, hanging out with people like Broner in that area is very bad.

People will not like your success, and you may ccatch a bullet because of it. Look at local entertainers in the area... happens a lot. Tank's own behavior and social activities will impede his progress in Baltimore. Going to strip clubs is not really a good thing to do as a young guy. Get some pv55y the old fashioned way.

                      c. Get with management that will see you through. I do not know his management so I have no specific critiscisms other than the last guy I would sign with would be Floyd. Floyd is into number one, and if you want some tips thats cool, but as a manager why not find someone who is a mentor, and a benefactor? Someone who wants what is best for you at all times and who will not compete with you. Floyd has basically sat on this kid... Just saying.

Watch who you hang with, fight regularly and you will have controlled a few things that could be problems down the road. Mr Davis has to hope that his chin, his weight, his learning curve and fate will all be kind to him.
