    calzaghe vs pavlik

"I knew that if Calzaghe faced Pavlik, he would put on a master-class similar to the one he delivered against Jeff Lacy. What better way to leave the sport? I’d agreed terms with Pavlik’s promoter Bob Arum for the fight...I’d also ensured the fight would have taken place at 170lb...Instead Joe decided to face Roy Jones Jnr in New York." -Frank Warren

not here to blame calzaghe for ducking pavlik and cowardly fighting a shot fighter. why did hbo enable this to happen is my question? they could have said fight pavlik or get off our network. they actually thought the corpse of roy jones jr vs welsh guy who did the worst ratings on their network was a good idea? thank you for being gone and not being able to make anymore ****** decisions. if they thought this was a good fight that would make them money they deserve to be dead. it was bad for boxing and business. shouldnt you at least have one of those?

Joe was too fast and skillful for Pavlik and he was bigger. He would win a ud by many points in my opinion.

why did he duck him then? why did he fight jones jr for a 50-50 split instead of taking 60-40 against pavlik in a fight that would have sold more at the gate and on ppv?

Pavlik would have beaten the brakes off Joe.

Pavlik was a real one. Calzaghe was an overrated bum whose 3 best wins are an overhyped bum and 2 corpses

no pavlik would not have won. the fight would have been at 170. it was a silly duck by calzaghe.

Pav was alkie, he let himself go early. In his prime he might well take joe. but not the alkied version.

Joe should have fought alkie Pav rather than add him to his long duck list. He might well have taken him on points. But Joe was fortunate not to be relevant when Pav was prime.

he wasnt so skillful, he just used his southpaw stance to befox minor boxers by the payload.
