I rate Joyce but I worry that being a U.K. HW limits the number of people willing to fight him without being overpaid. The whole top ten are good but already on a merry go round where they won’t fight each other unless paid massively over what they’re worth

BoxRec shows that he's been around for a while, though not really all that active. He's run most of his shows out of Yorkshire, England (nearby to Sheffield and all the fighters coming out of that area, just to mention) and Ricky Hatton seems to vouch for him too.

That quip wasn't to the UK audience; Stiverne's main value in the UK is that he's a former world champion. That was for this side of the Atlantic, to try and give US folks a reason to tune in to Joyce, a former Olympian but still an 8-fight novice nowhere near serious contender status just yet.
