If it were a big driver, Showtime would be doing 2-3 big boxing shows a month. As it stands their last Non-PPV world title fight was in September!

I think Showtime will be out in the future, HBO’s Boxing year on year quality and volume declined. We’re seeing the same with Showtime.

DAZN’s Entry has f’ed up SHO’s Boxing Strategy
Did you miss the 3 year deal that Showtime just announced with them increasing their boxing budget?

I think SHO has a very interesting setup. SHOBox for the up and coming fighters, FS1 for established pros but not necessarily big names, SHO Championship boxing for big fights, Fox prime time for major cards that aren't quite PPV level events, SHO PPV for event level fights with all fight available on SHO /Fox streaming services. They are even replaying PPV the next week in front of a SHO card.

If the WIlder/Fury and Manny/Broner cards show anything its that the model Haymon has is working right now.

Increasing their boxing budget dosen’t equate to getting the best fights and fighters.

It might’ve been only increased by 5% for example. Which won’t make a difference in the current boxing market

The inflation caused by DAZN means average fighters will have to be paid a lot to fight on SHO.

Showtime are now having to share their key fighters with FOX. DAZN has got the Middleweights and Joshua under lock. ESPN got Top Rank.

Showtime have only got the welterweights which they are having to share and Wilder. SHOBOX Is supplementary and shouldn’t be replacing world title programming on SHO which has slowed down over the past 6 months.

DAZN’s entrance has halted SHO’s Boxing Progress down.

Imagine if DAZN hadn’t had come in and HBO Still left.
Showtime would have had CANELO and the golden boy stable.
They would have kept Joshua too.

I don’t see SHO’s Medium-Long Term future in Boxing sustainable. Unless they carry on with what their doing now, One SHO Box a month and any decent fight being on PPV or going to FOX

They have more than the welterweights. They have the same fighters as FOX who will fight back and forth.

The PBC's fighters were too inactive in the past, so they'll surely have plenty of dates now to fill. How about you just read this stuff for yourself.

Showtime struck a new three-year deal with PBC on Thursday, it was announced by the network, and the agreement isn’t simply an extension of their current union. The partnership, which runs through 2021, calls for a “significant expansion of live boxing programming”; the sport will be offered monthly on the network.

Espinoza told The Ring that Showtime “will definitely be committing more resources both financially and personally and technically than at any point in the recent past.” He declined to reveal what the boxing budget’s ballooned to, but promised that the network will televise more fights than any other time in their 32-year-history — 30 live telecasts in all.

What Espinoza says and what he does are two different things. Every decent fight on PPV and SHOBox is crap programming.

LET’s see the quality of fights we get on SHO. Their January-April Schedule looks very light and poor.

Tank vs Mares and Lara vs Constano are good fights.
