Broner got $2.5m? He was low balled.
Cut the gross PPV revenue in half, assume half the gate was used to cover the event, and we're back to talking about $30m. Promoters share 20% on the fight, and you're at $24m. You cover Pacquiao's $20m, and you've got $4m, $2.5m already guaranteed to Broner.

It did 13k and some of those are obviously comp. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Safe bet is $4-6M.

Don’t think either had backend share? Thought both were flat fees.

          Thought it was sold out?

Even if they are comp tickets, someone is paying for them eg the sponsors.... no such thing as a free lunch.

It did a bit over 13k. Not close to 17k. Getting a $10 million gate is not easy at all. This fight most definitely didn't do that or get close to that number.

The fight was announced as a sellout at 13,025 because the Grand Garden, which can fit more than 16,000 for boxing, was scaled slightly under capacity. All tickets were sold, promoters said, though not all seats were filled.
Manny Pacquiao's win over Adrien Broner on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas sold 400,000 on pay-per-view, industry sources told Yahoo Sports.

Showtime takes their 7.5% cut and that’s it. Risk is all in the promoter. In this case pbc. Showtime and HBO never lose money. Expenses get paid first.
IF a fight does 100K or under, Showtime’s 7.5% cut will be very small.

Wilder is a good example, Showtime have invested millions of pounds in him through licence fees. They have to recoup that money and make more through a PPV.

Add in the production costs. Have Showtime made a profit on Wilder? I don’t think so. Apparently Wilder-Fury done 320K PPV Buys

                  So 320*$75=24M

                  7.5% of 24M is 1.8M
Showtime only made 1.8M from Wilder-Fury!!

See how the math don’t add up
Showtime are losing money on fighters.

And that’s a conservative figure, vast majority of people might’ve bought the Standard PPV at $65.

You could think of it like that. Or you could also think about how many subscribers would leave Showtime if they stopped showing boxing. Their subscribers are their main line of revenue, and they have tracked that their increase in subscribers and online streaming is driven by boxing.

HBO realized that their subscribers were much more reliant on their shows like Game of Thrones. So they got out out the business all together, but that's not the same with Showtime.

there were 13,000 people there plus Badou Jack made over 1 million. There isn’t an additional 10 mil in revenue as previously stated.

Plus there was tons of comps. They had sold less than 5000 tickets a week before the fight. They likely had a site fee and not a piece of the action. That’s how it usually works with Pacquiao and mgm. They pay a flat fee for the Asian whalers he brings to the casinos. As Pacquiaos popularity has declined so has the site fees.
