He'd been KO'd and bounced back before. We know he can get caught cold early but he has clear skill, speed, technique. His weaknesses have probably stopped him from being a truly elite fighter because he has exceptional talent. Cano is a bigger dude and Linares' may have emptied the last bits of his prime vs. Loma. Boxing history is full of cases like this.

I'm not sure why fans have to hate so many fighters just because a guy they hate beat him. You guys aren't fans of the sport and don't respect the fighters.

been stopped late as well. he's just not a durable fighter. if this was fencing and the points didn't hurt he'd be hard to beat.

Neither. He didn't get exposed nor did Lomachenko ruin him.

Linares is a very good boxer, but he's susceptible to this type of thing. It's happened to him before and against less notable opposition than Cano, too.

That being said, I think he's better off continuing at 135lbs rather than 140lbs.

Cano drops fool's and that's that. Linares is not a 140 pounder. Great fighter though.

Loma doesn't physically ruin anyone. I mean he handed him a stoppage loss, but Linares suffered those before. This was more of a fighter just getting caught on the ear. It took away his legs. It happens all the time. Remember Kirkland against that Japanese dude? Some fighters are just vulnerable early.

Don't think he was exposed, he has no business at 140. Cano was visibly, significantly bigger than him. Dude straight out mauled him and walked through him.

I don't think Loma ruined him. He never had a good chin and a good fighter with lots of power blasted him out quickly. It's not that unusual.

stop blaming weight, linares has been stopped from 129 to 140.

linares has also been stopped by modest punchers and frankly, without having been hit all that hard. he is no great fighter. he has very good boxing skills, but that doesn't mean he has had a great career as a fighter!

                      Think of it this way:

Lomachenko would not have had an easy night against Cano either. Cano showed good defense while coming forward, and was so much bigger/stronger than Linares that the first knockdown was a punch to the side of the neck/shoulder that that it completely knocked Linares off his feet. It wasn't a landed punch to the head, just more or less a push/shove, but due to the size difference it knocked Linares right to the canvas anyway. And keep in mind that Linares is a bigger man than Lomachenko.

The result of the fight is a combination of Linares having a history of being chinny (especially early), Cano being a seriously underrated boxer, and the weight difference.
