Yeah I think it's a combination of Loma knocking him out and Cano being a real strong 140lber who was just too big for Linares...
Linares doesn't come off losses that well, idk what it is, maybe he loses confidence or something. He got stopped earlier in his career in the early rounds as well when he was coming off a loss. I had a bad feeling about this fight when I saw that Cano knocked alot of his opponents down, even at welterweight. So yeah I think it's a combination of the Loma loss ruining him a bit and Cano being too strong for him. Because the first real punch that landed knocked Linares down immediately. He couldn't take the power at all.
Lomachenko knocked him out with a body shot, not like Linares got KTFO or anything. No, he's simply a vulnerable fighter who has shown he can get blitzed out of there early in fights. This is the third time he's been stopped in the first or second round. Linares fights picture perfect in spots which blinds folks in thinking he is better than what he really is.
This fight he couldn't handle Cano's power and that was apparent from the opening bell. Don't buy the notion that Lomachenko ruined him.
Linares got stopped by Demarco and followed that up next fight getting KOed in 2 rounds by a Mexican journeyman in Cancun. He has no defensive skill. Being able to rip off pretty combination punches doesn't make you a good fighter.
Linares was never that great in the first place. It's funny how after the Loma fight people tried to say he was an elite level fighter. He never was and probably never will be elite.
He doesn't have a great chin and he's vulnerable early in fights. He didn't get exposed. We already knew those weaknesses about him. And Lomachenko didn't "ruin" anything, if you think that then you should say Salgado ruined him, beacuse that was the first guy Linares lost to.

Or perhaps do you have another interpretation for why Pablo Cesar Cano destroyed him so easily?
Maybe fighting a 140 lber was a factor?
dude where have you been, he's been knocked out early and easily more than once. he has never taken punches well! and when he does get hit he doesn't react well.
i'll never forget watching jim lampley and emanuel steward compare him to ray robinson and watching antonio demarco cut him to pieces. he was rolling his head the wrong way with punches. he's always shown a ton of phyiscal and offensive boxing talent, but he's never taken a good shot! we knew this about him already! this is his fifth knockout loss, it's the only way he loses.
