Comments Thread For: Usyk's Team To Meet With Hearn This Week To Map Out 2019

In a year where he became the undisputed World cruiserweight champion and was universally hailed as 2018 Fighter of the Year, Oleksandr Usyk's greatest upcoming challenge may very well be providing an encore that satisfies public demand.

I don't think they should rush Usyk to Heavyweight just yet. I'd give him a few more fights at cruiserweight before making the jump.

I can see them matching him with either price or possibly Povetkin to lead up to AJ. Price’s height will most likely get him one more fight to see how usyk adjusts. Both would be nice tho. Then maybe Parker.

Hearn will map out Usyk's next few fights? #1 goal - Do not fight Ortiz. He will fight in-house fights for Hearn like Chisora, etc.

Ortiz can carry on growing old well out of the public eye.

When he reaches his late 40s he will be cannon fodder for the contenders

Usyk can do what he wants. I am interested in him moving to HW, but if he were to continue at CW for the foreseeable future that would still be fun. He is a great watch and I have been a fan for several years.

HW seems to be calling him. Wonder what weight he would try to box at? Can't see him too far above 220. That would be small in this age.

Usyk vs EBU champ Agit Kabayel could work well.
