Rigondeaux's fight against Loma may have been a blessing in disguise for him. Loma was in his prime and is now a unified 135 champ. Rigo had the experience of fighting a bigger guy with a similar olympic and amateur pedigree to him. Rigo will never face someone at 122 that is as skilled or as strong as Loma, so he should be able to easily become the undisputed champ and defend the belts into his 40s.

Seeing Charlo eat Korobov’s left was fantastic.Oh yeah...there was a few morons on here saying Loma was scared etc lol. I told more than one of em that Loma would school and embarrass Rigo and was called an idot hahaha. Then they jumped off bandwagon. Seem like those same bandwagon boys are all on Charlos now. I seen some jumped off that to but most of em still clinging on to the luckily undefeated bum killer Charlo hahaha

I can see they are trying to re-invent Rigo and all, by giving him some soft touches. I am just waiting for the day they up his opposition, and put him on the televised portion of the card. Will he completely stink out the house like he has done so many times? Oh yes he will. All it will take is a fighter who is afraid to engage, and Rigo will just sit back and enjoy the lack of action and activity. He will not engage himself, he will be right back in his boring ass comfort zone! LOLComment

Sure sure, size had NOTHING to do with it. Ok, and also, we can pretend he wasn't hitting Rigo on the top and back of his head, which his size allowed him to do.
Whatever, Loma has Salido problems anyways.Comment

The so called "dirty tactics" in the fight like you are trying to point out were from Rigo himself. Loma's taps to Rigo's head were just that, taps to make sure the ref would intervene from Rigo's dipping far below the waistline.
Rigo was the one attempting to twist Loma's arms out of their sockets every time he tied Loma up. Or that one time he tried to give Loma Whiplash towards the end of the 5th round. That is why Loma suckered him at the end of the round.Last edited by deanrw; 01-14-2019, 04:23 PM.Comment

Great post. I agree with every point. Bad idea to take the fight. Even worse idea to quit.In my view, more than anything else, Rigo could not handle the psychological pressure of the moment. He stepped to the ring and quickly realized he was in over his head and his ego could not accept getting outclassed in front of the world. Loma was a younger, bigger and better fighter. Rigo caved mentally and had what amounted to a nervous breakdown in there. He s-h-i-t himself and ruined his entire legacy by quitting on his stool and faking an injury. I actually felt bad for the guy because he can never recover from that loss. His corner should have slapped him across the mouth and forced him to dig deep like a champion, but they just let him quit so they have some blame too. Loma, for his part, didn't really even get warmed up.Comment

So Rigo kept trapping Loma’s hands under his elbows and kept on bending lower than required to give a blowjob. He ate some shots for it. His own problem. Rigo started fighting dirty, Loma obliged. This thread has all the info you'll need on that:

No. The little ****** bending all the way forward at the waste because he had absolutelyno idea how to handle that skill level was the reason he was getting hit and was also a big reason he only landed around 6 punches in the fight lolComment

Right, "skill level'
All that skill ... lost to Salido.Comment
