We’ll probably end up getting some meaningless IBF defence in a half empty arena in New York.
Hearn has little say in what Jacobs decides to do. He just has one more fight under his promotional deal. If Jacobs signs with the PBC, even for one fight, Hearn can't prevent that.

And if he then comes to DAZN for Canelo, he won't need Hearn to get that fight. Assuming he beats Charlo in this scenario.

They could make it work. Fury wasn't ranked in the top 15 either and once it was known he was fighting Wilder, all of a sudden he was ranked in the top 5. IBF wouldn't prevent that fight. Charlo though may lose his mandatory status for Canelo, which he likely becomes if GGG doesn't fight him.

I think it being an interim title makes the difference. It's not really a unification if they fought. Though I'd assume both titles would be on the line.

He would probably have to vacate the interim title? Definitely would lose his status as the mandatory for Canelo.

Either way, if Jacobs vs Charlo was to happen, they would make it work.

No he wouldn't have to vacate. It'll be a voluntary defense on both sides.

He should just drop Hearn IMO, Hearn clearly has no pull in the USA.

To fight Canelo though, he’s going to have to sign a long term deal with DAZN, it’s a risky matchup for Canelo and surely DAZN wouldn’t be ****** enough to risk their prized asset without a security net.
And in that same sense, would showtime want to risk Charlo, for a one off fight with Jacobs knowing he could jump straight back to DAZN?

Jacobs very well may drop Hearn, but he's still under him for one more fight.

That's the thing, Jacobs is a risky fight for Canelo but DLH has said he's willing to do one off deals. I mean look at it this way, who the hell is Canelo going to fight for his 10 fight deal if it isn't GGG or Jacobs?

Haymon doesn't sign his guys to network deals so SHO nor FOX really can't say anything. Jacobs will still technically be with Haymon even if he fights on DAZN. I think Haymon would be fine with making Jacobs/Charlo and then Jacobs leaving to DAZN for GGG or Canelo. Would he prefer it? Of course not, but that's why he's trying to lock up both GGG and Jacobs to PBC. Then he should be able to get Derevyanchenko as well. Though Dibella has shown he will take his guys anywhere that pays them the most money.

Agreed, I was fooled into thinking Hearn was going to make Jacobs a real known fighter. Charlo has more buzz around him than Jacobs does without a promoter and a belt.

And Hearn didn't deliver Jacobs a title. The IBF mandatory did.
