Thanks and I agree that both are too small for the champs. So is Kownacki but then again for his height, Wilder is light. Deontay’s fight-day weight check against Fury was 209.4 lbs, three pounds lighter than his weigh-in!

Unless Brazeale takes takes 5M$ for Whyte asap (in which case, Whyte will do Fury late 2019), then AJ will do Miller in April and let WBO go; Whyte v Jennings for the title at the end of 2019.

Yes his dramatic constant weight loss is a shocker! I saw a yt video where the guy blames it as proof of previous steroid use before becoming a champ and hence more rigrous cbp wada testing, so his reasoning is he starts to lose all the muscle he built from roids. Just what i heard, not my opinion of course. Wilder himself chocked it down to a sickness of sorts, but man its been going on for a long while now, fight after fight he weighing in less and less, soon he will be a natural cruiserweight :/ Tis very strange, wonder what it is.

Yes, wilder has the height and then isnt very muscular, even when he was 225-230lbs, but imo there is no substitute for height in the hw division when you have power, speed, timing, accuracy and some sort of skills and/or athleticism to go with it. Jenning isnt that small actually, just isnt a great puncher or highly skilled and didnt have much amateur experience (if any at all?) Rivas is like, not even 6'1 listed at 6 and a half inches i believe. Thats very small nowadays, and freaks like tyson just dont exist anymore. Kownacki is decent sized i believe, with lots of pressure, cardio and aggression. Just doesnt have anything 'special' that stands out. Buy hey, its the hw division and all it takes is one punch, and you cant measure intangibles like heart, chin and will. And upsets like buster douglas mike tyson are few and far in between, but every now and then they can still happen (michael hunter martin bakole much?)

        Heavyweights rock man.

I agree. The hevyweight division has always been the gold standard especially for marginal fans. My first favorite fighter was Joe Frazier. Although there have been plenty of boring heavyweight fights, I always enjoy seeing them fight live. Hoping this year provides plenty of exciting matchups.

Me too bro! I think it will!

The guys who will be remembered from this 'era' are now at that stage where they should and are/will be all fighting each other. Parker, joshua, fury, wilder, ortiz, miller, whyte, ugonoh. Great stuff man. And many prospects coming up too, in addition to all the a-/b level guys waiting on their titleshots. Breazeale, spong, fa, joyce, ajagba, bakole, ehwarieme, hrgovic, dychko, hunter, yoka, dubois, ruiz, takam, pulev, kownacki, povetkin, browne, teslenko, sirenko, kabayel, wallin, schwartz, rivas, jennings, zhilei, gorman, arias, kuzmin, plechko etc etc Healthier than the wlad era for sure, at least.

Not really. He wasn't really hyped up that much and he's a legit opposition for the top guys in the division.

He beats most of the guys in the HW division and would probably give guys like Joshua, Wlad, Fury, Wilder(already did) trouble if he had fought them.

Ortiz wladimir is a huge fantasy fight of mine, ortiz was avoided back then too. Very intriguing to see if he handles wlads jab and grab style or falls victim too. Sadly fantasy is all it will ever be

He is a legit 40, videos of him in 2005 show a 20yoish young man. and why does the age bother you exactly? He is good regardless of his age. These grandpa 'jokes' irritate me

I thought it was suppose to happen because Wlad was with HBO and that was around the time that Ortiz was also featured a lot on HBO. I think he lost to Fury is what caused it not to happen.
