Serving a drugs ban, getting a gift decision in a fight where most spectators thought he lost, and then beating on a B-at-best level SMW does not a FOTY campaign make. Even if his win over GGG had been uncontroversial and he never served the ban it still wouldn't be as good as what Usyk's done this year.

For a long time ive been hearing from Canelo fans that GGG was overrated, that he was a one trick pony, a product of a biased media, etc.

How many fighters of the year were caught on PEDs and still got the award the same year? Canelo being in his prime managed to outpoint by a point a fighter 8 years older and past his prime.
