If he beats Eubank, facing Groves and hanging them up like he said isn't a bad way to go out.

The title holders may be too young and fresh for DeGale at this stage in his career.

If Degale didn't want to ditch his belts he didn't have to. He didn't like how much he was going to make for the fight and Haymon told him he can fight Eubank for more money and get a title shot later. At that time Benavidez was the champ so I'm guessing that's who Degale would have gotten his shot against. And he still may after Dirrell wins the vacant title and defends it against Benavidez.

After his Traux performances it was clear why he vacated the belt. A guy fighting at that form gets stopped easily against Uzcategui.

I was watching an interview of Degale's recently and he said on top of his shoulder injury, he's had an Achilles injury for years that really started to both him the last few weeks. The man looks like a broken fighter. While he is much more skilled than Eubank, he may just not have enough left in the tank. Then he would have retired going 0-2 against his main domestic rivals which will eat him up for the rest of his life.

It's just so bad for boxing. Not saying other promoters dont also do it, but as with most of the bad things in boxing, it seems like Haymon goes too far with it. Degale is shot. What if Eubank Jr knocks him out? Degale still gets his title shot? I mean come on get out of here with that ****.
What exactly was wrong with what Haymon did here? Uzcategui is tougher fight for Degale than Eubank for less money. He presented him both options. It would have been murder putting Degale in with Uzcategui after the Traux fights.

And obviously Degale isn't getting a title shot if he gets knocked out by Eubank. That goes without saying. I mean he's calling it a retirement fight for the loser so he won't be fighting any longer if he gets stopped or just flat out loses to Eubank.

Why is he saying he's being promised a title shot before he retires when the article also says this fight is for a title?

            IBO title doesn't really count...

IBO title doesn't really count as a world title but for some reason top fighters like Klitsckho, Golovkin, Lara, AJ picked it up as part of their unification title reigns so why not I guess, it somehow may be a tiny bargaining chip for the future.

Problem with the IBO is they don't have mandatory challengers, and any title defence can be against the top 35 ranked contenders so it's a load of bollokk's pi$$ poor belt that looks like crap and is crap because no-one cares for it really.

Eubank jr has won the WBA "Interim" Title at Middleweight and has already held the IBO Super Middleweight Title but he knows deep down to be regarded as a world champion you need to win one of the big four. WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO

Though the WBA "Regular" Title is a load of bolloks as well

Way too many World championship belts nowadays, including the WBA "Interim" that's technically 6 champions and an interim champion making 7 champions which is way too many.

I'm ok with 4 world champions but the IBO can fucck off and so can the WBA "Regular" and WBA "Interim"

            Joke upon jokes now

As he says, Eubank, Groves, retirement is his best choice, health and finance wise. Haymon could put him in with Uzi or Benavidez but I don't think DeGale wants that type of fight at this stage of his career.

This fellah is like ward (not comparing boxing skill) 20 odd fights and run! It’s always been about the money from this waaaay overated fool. When he got home from the Olympic s he demanded a million pound contract from frank warren and has been bleeting about the green ever since.
Soundly beaten by the saint and in the process made himself look really ****** (including his twat trainer).
I’m picking Chris Eubank jnr as long as he employs the use of a trainer and I’m picking him to stop degayle.
Anyone want kudos points on it????

"Degale isn't a huge puncher, but he's actually deceptively heavy handed, similar to Calzaghe. He put Direll and Jack down. If he was feather fisted, guys would have just walked through him."

I didn't say he was feather fisted. He is not a noted power puncher though.
