Haha, Robbie is a unique kinda mong. He gets beat down on the forum daily, he's developed some sort of immunity to it. He carries on arguing long after he's been hung, drawn and cheek-busted.

They estimate it using averages like how many people would be watching a PPV buy, which on average is definitely more than 1 surely?

So when Hearn says he did 500k buys and uses BARB as his proof, that is actually just an estimated amount of people watching. So imagine on average across the country that 2 people are watching the same PPV buy, then you could essentially cut the buys he says in half to get a more accurate number. Actually their ratio is more like 2.5 viewers per TV.

Sky never release an amount of buys and Hearn clouds the water by giving figures of estimated viewers and passes it off as buys.

        This is just fact
It's true, Sky Boxoffice do not reveal official figures, I don't think they ever have but that also does not mean BARB is incorrect of the numbers are low, just because you dislike certain fighters lol

How does any of this relate to you watching the sport of boxing? Or effect the way you watch the sport? Or effect you in any way.

Do you only watch fighters that garnish a certain amount of PPV buy?

Sky has way cheaper PPV's, which I like. That's how it effects the way I watch boxing

It’s in the best interest of all promoters to inflate their numbers, you know what they can’t do doe is lie at the negotiating table. That’s where they all have to open their books to the real thing. So when they claim they sold 1m I bet you they probably sold 850k, when they claim they sold 750k they probably sold 650k.

I am going to chime in here with the preface that I wish the OP had included a link to substantiate what he is forwarding.

With that said, the BARB numbers are not ever an exact match for PPV buys, but they have proven to usually be in the ballpark.

For example, BARB reported almost 1.5 million viewers the week of the AJ vs Parker fight while the number of buys reported range from 1.2 million to the same 1.5.

And when you take Joshua's reported earnings from those fights and calculate in reverse, the money seems to line up with the PPV numbers as well.

So, I am going to say BARB is a fair source to cite for numbers absent any further proof to the contrary.
