Ricky Hatton can beat Floyd Mayweather

People act like Hatton gets hit as much as Gatti, and that Mayweather is untouchable and he will never be on the ropes. Ever since he moved up to 147 he has fought Mitchell (who was scared to death) and Judah (who wasn't very good to begin with). He dealed with them well but Hatton would of done the same.

I do agree that Mayweather is a good inside fighter, he's really fluid with his combinations but the shoulder roll will not work vs floyd. Only reason it works is because his opponents are trying to box with him. Hatton never does this. He usually feints to the left and rips off a left hook and then a straight right. This is going to hurt Mayweather because he underestimates Hatton's ability to close the gab (footspeed) and his world-class footwork.

First of all,

Hatton's head movement and upper body movement, and defense is general is so mediocre when he rushes in. That sort've thing worked against someone who throws one punch at a time like Kostya, but would have a hell of a time against someone who's a combination puncher like Collazo.

Like I said before, Chavez tried to do use that same tatic as Hatton likes to do. The problem is, Chavez ran into combinations and was just taking too many clean shots to the face as he just came forward, and the fight was eventually stopped.

The key for Mayweather in this fight would to have to an extremely high punch output to keep Hatton and bay, and then severely punish him as he came forward. Floyd would basically make Hatton pay a hefty price everytime to get inside. And even if he does get inside on Mayweather, there's no garunteeing that he will stay there long enough to do any significant damage.

And please don't compare Castillo and Hatton.
because a) Castillo cuts of the ring 1000x better than Hatton does.
b)Castillo has better head movement and defense than Hatton does.
c)Castillo is a better inside fighter than Hatton is.

The only reason castillo is even good at fighting on the inside is because he has tricks that he learned from chavez prolly, and he is quicker and stronger then he looks. Corrales openly admitted this. He did say that castillo does some incredible work on the inside because he catches you when he makes a mistake.

Hatton doesnt make many mistakes, but when he does he gets caught and its bad (AKA: when collazo hurt him in 12). Even though collazo isnt a power puncher, any big punch from any professional that lands flush WILL hurt another pro.

We all know that mayweather isnt known for his power, so i doubt he could really hurt hatton. When Mayweather KOs a guy, its because hes quick. He jumps in with a great combo and gets out. But when he faces a great inside fighter, such as castillo, he cannot hurt his opponent.

Hatton will be close to mayweather the whole night. The only time time mayweather WILL catch hatton is when hes coming in, but hatton has a damn good chin and he is very tough.

I think Mayweather could win. He has a better chance at winning, but it would not be by KO. Hattons constant pressure could and probably WOULD frustrated Mayweather. IF the fight does happen, i bet we see mayweather yelling at hatton. lol

First of all, Hatton isn't the face-first slugger that he is painted out to be. Lately, he swarms but the guy knows how to box. Seriosuly, when was the last time you saw a non-stop pressure fighter who didn't get hit? His defence is mediocre but who cares. A good offense is a good defence.

Have you ever seen any tapes of Duran? The guy was simply magical at slipping punches and rolling with them. Fighter's like that come once every 50 years. Hatton isn't that guy, and we know that. He still does plenty of things that are multi-dimensonal and will hurt Floyd.

And have you ever seen a Kostya fight? He is a combination puncher. I don't know how you can say otherwise. I like how you just edited that and deleted it. Nice work

Comparing Hatton to Chavez is comparing strippers to penny whores. Hatton is on a whole different level, kid.

Mayweather's ability and skills are there for all to see. Simply pointing them out to fellow fans who are already more than aware that he "has a good defense" is just plain ******. Most of us have moved past saying Floyd is good to looking at the bigger picturee. I would appreciate if you would do the same.

You heard me. Only reason Castillo is so good at it is because he is a middleweight starved down to 135. He is fighting guys who are naturally MUCH smaller then him and he is easily able to bully them.

Hatton > Castillo in terms of muscular strength.
