No, he said networks like HBO and Showtime are becoming obsolete because they have to compete with Netflix because they are largely entertainment networks and not necessarily sports networks . However, he said channels like FS1, ESPN and network television are here to stay.

I've never understood why it's not like that here.

I mean, Muhammad Ali used to fight on ABC.

To me, it just seems like guys like King & Arum found out that they could make ridiculous amounts of money with PPV and it's ruined interest in America over the past 30 years.

Frustrating part is there's nothing to watch even if they want to. Networks simply can't provide boxing events on a weekly basis. Paying monthly subscription and only getting an average of one fight a month doesn't make any sense for most people. They need to find a way to reduce the cost and let people decide when to pay and watch without being forced to a monthly obligation.
Tuesday Night Fights used to introduce fans to fighters and act as a feeder system for guys like Don King & Arum, but they got rid of that too.

A weekly boxing show(PBC's too sporadic) would do miraculous things for the sport

If it will continue to thrive while cut down the fee when you should be increasing it. It's a matter of time, PPV is dead.

All ppv does is restrict the better matchups from happening. Hey bobby, you think you can put your greed aside and help these young fighters get a shot at what they break their ass to achieve? Or is still not important enough to the sport as another dollar would be in your pocket?! Ppv or free streaming I don't give a damn just make the true matchups and stop hiding behind ppv excuses.

Oh yea almost forgot and wish I could but its still baffling how crowner I mean broner can line up for a ppv event. He got schooled by Vargas and embarrased by Garcia but somehow he creid enough to pull a draw from Vargas. Well anyone who seen it knows better. Now he gets rewarded for disrespecting the sport everytime he opens his mouth! Great example of ppv credibility!!

I'm just so glad I don't have to see DAZN and ESPN+ lumped together by certain people as streaming services that will end PPV. Top Rank not once said they were going to stop putting on PPVs. They just quite frankly didn't have any PPV match ups they could put on once Pacman started fighting overseas and then eventually leaving to the PBC.

PPVs aren't going anywhere any time soon. But if these PPVs do bad numbers, then there will definitely be some hesitation to put on as many PPVs as we are seeing right now.

If you thought Vargas edged it, that's fair. But Broner definetely didn't get schooled in that fight. Was a legitimate close fight where Broner closed stronger in the 2nd half of the fight. Against Garcia? Definitely got beat easily by a much better fighter.

Your right, the term schooled was a little harsh. I do belive Vargas won by a substantial margin. Surprised it was that close. Just my opinion. Gotta give Broner credit for one thing. He sure doesn't duck a tough fight.

I think Khan vs. Crawford will be REALLY good and I bet Khan wins some rounds.
Going off Khan's last fight, it's going to be fairly one sided in favour of T-Bud.
