GGG has been fighting pro a long time and he is a smart man. He can manage himself just fine like some other boxers are doing. He is a very big name and is much in demand and lots of high paying fights should be available to him without help from a promoter or a manager. GGG was the one who demanded a 55/45 split in Canelo's favor instead of the 65/35 split in Canelo's favor and he got what he wanted. He can also train himself or Roach could train him. Roach does well training attacking hard punching boxers like GGG.
Golovkin No Longer with Loeffler?

So Loeffler saying, "Charlo Fight is Not Going To Happen"
is now completely nullified.
A massive shakeup has been occurring around boxing in regards to network implications with especially influential consequences in the middleweight division. We’re about two weeks removed since Canelo Alvarez rocked the sporting world that reached more than just casual fans – it made international financial headlines. The new streaming service DAZN offered to American audiences (as well as Canada, Japan, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria) had finally made a splash with a record shattering deal that genuinely could alter how boxing contracts are negotiated, both on an individual level for fighters and with their promoters, should they have one at the time of signing.Comment

A new trainer? At his age?
It isn’t as if he got knocked out, he had two close fights against a great fighter in canelo.Comment

True DAZN should probably be higher. If Jacobs goes to PBC, then I'll increase the chance of GGG following. Seeing Charlo fight in front of 2.4 million people might influence them.If he went to ESPN, then Loeffler could have still promoted him. TR is interested in fights and not necessarily signing the actual fighter...Though that is obviously preferred. But that's why they will go after good fights with having no horse in the race.
I'd break down the percentages as: 60% DAZN 30% PBC 10% ESPN.Comment

Well damn. Rumor confirmed I guess.
Kinda odd cuz overall Tommy L seemed to help blueprint GGG's path to where he's got which is probably being the 3rd biggest non-latino foreign fighter in the US behind Manny & Lennox. Than again I do tend to think promoters play a lesser roll in that trajectory cuz the fighters personality, likability (or hateability) & style of fighting seem to be as important if not more important to becoming popular & more mainstream. So GGG did as much or more to get where he's got than Tommy L I'd argue.
And it might also be noted that there was a long list of blown big fight talks & maybe Tommy made some moves there that left GGG not as trusting or confident in Tommy. And randomly this also makes me wonder if that move to play chicken with Oscar concerning the Canelo II fight was a GGG move not a Tommy move that got GGG paid extra so maybe he does think he can make better decisions for his career than Tommy. Or that he doesn't need a promoter even perhaps as others suggest.
Also kinda funny that usually guys lose & toss trainers, but GGG is tossing his promoter after his first L. As a couple have mentioned dropping Abel mighta been a good move cuz I do kinda think Abel is just a tad overrated & the fact GGG didn't really fight like Abel wanted him to fight suggests maybe GGG doesn't respect him as much anymore or trust his advice.
That said I do think Abel was on point last fight & had GGG listened his outcome may haven't been as displeasing.Comment

I was thinking likewise on maybe trying out Freddie for some new blood on his team. And agree Freddie works well with aggressive fighters so it might get the best outta GGG for his last few fights.Comment

same could be said bout how fighters wake up at 4am to run every morning for miles. but all fights happen after dinner time. shoot if you a ppv star you could be fighting closer to midnight if you east coast based.I tried telling people the high elevation training is nothing but BS. Unless you are fighting somewhere in high elevation, it's not going to do you that many favors. It's a damn myth. It is why the Nuggets are so great at home, but not nearly as good on the road (this year excluded). It will benefit you when your opponent is not used to of playing/training in high elevation, but that's about it.
Now, Big Bear may be good for him in the sense that there isn't anything to do so it keeps him focused, this is a grown f'n man. He should be able to stay disciplined where ever the hell he trains at.Comment
