Comments Thread For: BoxingScene Pound-For-Pound: Jan. 2019 Update

The results for the last quarter of 2018 are in. They didn't change anything. No one in the last BoxingScene Pound for Pound list lost. No one had such a blowaway performance against an elite opponent to demand entry nor did anyone have the sort of win that demanded they rise above someone ahead of them.

                My list FWIW:

                1. Crawford
                2. Loma
                3. Usyk
                4. Mikey
                5. Inoue
                6. Sor
                7. Canelo
                8. Spence
                9. GGG
                10. AJ

If Canelo had not tested positive I would have him higher. You could argue he should be ineligible after testing positive.

If Mikey beats Spence I will elevate him. I likely will have him #1. If Usyk beats AJ he IMO is the clear #1 unless Loma beats Crawford.

You know I’m AJ all the way but he doesn’t deserve to be on that list. The first 3 I can’t argue with although it’s about time I see Crawford’s heart tested. I don’t even know if he has the minerals. He has the skill unquestionably. I don’t recall any fight he has been in that if he chose to let his opponent have a free shot that they would knock him out

I'm fine if you have someone else at 10. I just think AJ deserves credit for beating wlad and unifying with Parker. He also has a ko win over whyte who is a top 4 HWT.

Santa Cruz or Nietes would be solid choices I wouldn't dispute.
