It makes no sense at all. Vargas was part of SNAC - Conte. Keep in mind both recently Monroe Jr. and Blue Chip Martin were caught for PED violations under SNAC. So how in the hell does Francisco Vargas get a pass who had double of Canelo’s amount and closer to his fight yet still allowed to fight, and the Cali commissioner Foster said Vargas “had a very low amount 1.2ng I believe....”

Nobody in industry challenged this to defend Canelo, not even Ring Editor Doug Fischer. Nor did Dan Rafael or Lance Pugmire whom REPORTeD on the Clen Vargas case?

So you must wonder, was the whole Canelo Clen scandal a cover up to delay the fight? Or was it that industry saw an opportunity to punish Oscar when many gravitated more towards Loeffler and K2?

My personal theory is that the WBC finally got Canelo with a Scandal. Many GBP associates in 2017-2018 we’re making propaganda videos that Vargas was cleared and that many Mexican boxers and general populous had Clen trace levels anyways. The WBC, VADA and K2 benefitted MORE with split negotiations in the hopes that the rematch would do double the PPV from the first fight. 2.4 million expected PPV’s would make all the anti-GBP affiliates more money. Also I’m more than sure that Loeffler tried to renegotiate splits when WBC-CBP VADA publicly addressed the scandal. GBP didn’t budge and that’s how all the drama started

I'm a big fan of Occam's razor, man, so whilst I wouldn't rule out your ideas, I'd personally prefer a hypothesis with fewer assumptions in it.

What I would note though is that VADA is just the testing agency, and that Goodman made it clear that the decision on how to act on VADAs findings was clearly CSACs responsibility.

I ain't got the time now to dig out everything but I am aware that whilst the ABC tries to ensure that the different commissions' rulings are largely consistent there are various differences in testing protocols and standards between states (Minnesota apparently has no testing policy at all - or at least didn't at the time of this linked article).

And I am aware that NSAC is supposed to have tightened it's regs over the last few years but I ain't got full details - though some of the changes are mentioned in the above article. Add in human self-interest, the massively different magnitude of the two fights and the concomitant level of scrutiny and there's more than enough reasons for me to explain the differences in the decisions taken.

And finally - unless it's some kind of really deep double bluff, it's hard to see why the WBC would be in on some kind of scam which could hurt both their image and that of a fighter they have been actively pushing to be the face of the sport for the last 5 or 6 years. Hell Mauricio unambiguously declared Canelo's innocence before full details had even emerged and has been all but publicly fellating him since. The evidence suggests that the WBC have been grooming Canelo towards the MW crown since as early as 2013... hard for me to buy that they would be in on it, though I ain't gonna pretend I got a particularly devious mind.

In general if the simplest explanation is sufficient to explain an occurrence there really ain't any need to go looking for conspiracies.
