I gave you the names of 3 gym options and told you my height and weight because you wanted to know. Then the week of the fight I asked you when you were arriving and you said you couldn't make it. Got to disagree with Breadman about scoring a fight. The #1 criteria for determining who wins a round is punches landed. I don't think he mentioned that in his article. Those scoring criteria as he calls them are guidelines to help the judges to determine who won if the round is somewhat close. Even punches landed can be somewhat deceiving if they all come in the last 30 seconds for one boxer. Scoring isn't cut and dried.

Weisfield then outlined the importance of defence but made it clear that the purpose of the sport is to hit your opponent so if a boxer dodges every punch but does not hit their opponent the round will still be scored even.

The underlying thought in this quote is that landing punches on your opponent is the main focus of boxing. The rest is secondary.
