Dillian Whyte needs to be given his title shot, he is the only modern day heavyweight that has actually had to fight contender after contender to earn his shot. Tyson Fury got his title shot off a performance he produced 30 years ago against Wladimir Kiltschko etc

If Tyson Fury does not face Deontay Wilder next, and Dillian Whyte cannot face Anthony Joshua. I think Whyte should fight ether Wilder or Fury.

It might not be possible because of promotional issues but ALL IF'S ...If Povetkin could be ready for the potential US Wilder v Fury 2 date .Wouldn't it be great for Whyte to put on a wipe out display coast to coast USA on such a big bill. Something that Joshua has never dared do.And who ever wins the rematch would certainly make for big business re a fight with Whyte. Because a part from Wilder and a over weight unproven Miller there are no heavies out there. After the Wilder v Fury thriller I know the yanks are ready to roll.

I spoke to lots of them about this at MSG for the Lomo fight and although like most they thought Fury was 'unlucky' with the decision it certainly got them talking about the rematch!

Whyte might knock him out. Pov is dreadfully overrated.

Povetkin only lost twice in his entire career , a former Olympic champion is overatted. Ha

The ranking organizations are a complete joke. WBO doesn’t even have Ortiz in the top 15 but those that do make the top 15, half no one has EVER heard of. The IBF has him at 8 behind the following: Kabayal (who the f u c k), Wallin (who the f u c k), 9 loss Chisora (didn’t I say rating orgs are a joke?), Kownacki (18 wins ooooook), Helenius (who the f u c k). The WBA doesn’t have him in the top 15 but has two 7-0 fighters and a 14-0 fighter there. Get the f u c k outta here. But we’re supposed to rate if a fighter qualifies to fight so and so based on who they’ve fought with rating orgs like this? Boxing has gone to complete s h I t
none of these issues you mention have anything to do with Ortiz failing drug tests?

Should it? He failed in 2014 while Povetkin failed in 2016 but still is ranked. So I’ll say absolutely not otherwise Povetkin would Face a worse fate

Povetkin should fight Ortiz in the undercard of Fury-Wilder rematch. An interesting fight. There

Joyce is not quite ready for a Povetkin. Would love to see a Miller, Kownacki, or Jennings fight Povetkin if they win their January scheduled fights.

Never did anything of worth in the professional ranking. Only ever held the WBA regular because he belongs amongst names like Charr and Oquendo.

It's hard to lose when you only fight losers. All that pedigree and how many 0's has he taken?

How many world title fights has he been in?

Why did so many people debut after him and pass him up for a title fight without ever fighting him?

What percentage of title opportunities did Povetkin piss away, no fault of his of course?

How many leftovers has he fought?

Yeah, look at that resume. Most of them are Wlad leftovers and then when Wlad retired he moved to Wilder leftovers. What an amazing career.

Which fight did the great Povetkin display the most skill in? Coming back from the dead against Ruslan ain't it bubba? sad as ****. GTFOH with that bull****.

Even David Haye achieved higher laurels at HW.

If he is healthy enough by April, Povetkin is in a different place than most any other HW out there right now: He is looking to end his boxing lifespan soon, and with a few nice paydays. So he needs a beatable opponent on big undercards that might lead him to one more huge payday, or at least put him in the winning column to end out a decent but unspectacular career.

Problem is, who fits those descriptions? If he wants one more huge payday, than Ortiz makes the most sense. Beat him, and that is a huge win in the boxing circles and may line him up with one of the losers of the Joshua/Whyte/Wilder/Tyson Fury round robin and get him a nice retirement check. Ortiz is skilled, powerful, and motivated, so that is a tough out. But that is the point. Joseph Parker is another option that makes sense. I do not think he carries the same upside as a win over Ortiz would, but he is very respected and I think Povetkin could match up to him well. Jarrell Miller is another name, but has not got a great rep yet. But he sure will sell the undercard easy and Miller needs a fight on the next level to prove he belongs. If Povetkin wants a big payday, I am not sure any other name but those three gets him there in 2 fights.

If he is looking for a couple fights just to pad his career, a Hughie Fury makes a ton of sense. Maybe Junior Fa, who does not bring a name but needs to either step up or risk being a "B" grade fighter forever. Joyce needs to fight a few more times to hone his skills. He has a ton of upside, but Povetkin on a good day is a really big level above the competition he has been in with so far. It makes sense if Joyce and his team is willing to gamble BIG on where they are at, and Povetkin should be favored against him.
