This is good. Now lets see how Thurman does. The second quarter of fights like around the summer time is when better fights usually get made, so numbers should go up.

Great numbers to start kicking things up
I am glad the first fight of Fox did those great big numbers. I hope this is a trend for the right direction. I love boxing and I hope the sport I love reach a new Golden Era.Comment

-This beat out every UFC on FOX this year
-Outside of boxing fans, nobody knew who the Charlos were, this was an introduction
-The next ones are going to be bigger because the shoulder programming is going to be non-stop for the next 4x years..casuals will latch on
-FOX is getting these ratings at an absolute steal compared to what they were with UFC
All things considered, this was huge, and FOX has to be ecstatic.
If this keeps going, they are going to have no choice but to extend the deal beyond 4x years and also increase the yearly cap, there is just way too much value for FOX.
This event didnt have as much to do with WHO was fighting but more so that there WAS a fight on free tv.
It’s not exactly the same with the Mike Lee vs Iaquinta fight that did over 2mil despite there being a fight (boxing) that day.
2.4 is good in that it’s not BAD but considering it wasnt competing with other fights, it’s not exactly highly encouraging..but it’s not discouraging either.
I do think it’ll get better though but it’ll be more to do with the product meeting a need(want) as opposed to the specific fighters this past weekend.
High level fights almost always do well on free tv (in that they dont go unwatched) even if its not the best in the division and it’s something people WILL watch. The average person will see on their guide there’s two championship fights and will tune in so hell yeah, it’ll get better. At least I hope so.Comment

You know exactly why certain potare knocking the numbers. Sad isn’t it that they will put hate for someone they don’t know ahead of the sport.Comment
