i wish him well but i understand why people dont. People are so sensitive on here about boxers, if it was a non athlete who had done what stevenson did and end up in a coma then people on here wouldnt be crying thats for sure.

The scientific cold hard truth is that if the human head is hit hard repeatedly, like in a professional boxing match, brain damage can occur. It isn't arbitrary, it's just chance.
Adonis Stevenson took that risk every time he stepped in the ring, and unfortunately his luck ran out. None of the losers on this forum talking about karma would have the balls to do the same thing.
Nick Blackwell suffered 2 traumatic brain injuries of record. First in fight with Eubanks. And a worse TBI while sparring a year later. He was hospitalized then for about a month and was in an induced coma for part of that time. He is still getting some therapy but appears to have made or is making a full or nearly full recovery.
Blackwell has said that 5 days before his bout with Eubanks, he sparred with Groves and was hit harder than anything before and wasn't right going into the Eubanks fight. Probably had a TBI then. Shoulda been scanned and prevented from fighting then unless and until another scan showed he had healed. So it may have been the Groves sparring shot that permanently affected his brain making him unsuitable to box again--including the Eubanks bout.
Maybe brain scans should be mandatory before bouts for all boxers?
OTOH, I know of someone who was flatline for several days from a brain injury. Neurologists declared him medically and legally dead. They pulled the plug but he breathed on his own. A few months later he had nearly all brain functions regained.
Anything may be possible.
