Help Me Understand Wilder's 20lb+ Weight Loss

Wilder lost 20lbs over 2 years, you make it sound like it was over night. He dropped weight before two fights where he mentioned he was training for stamina. It happens. He dropped 6 pounds before the Ortiz fight, and lost 2lbs before the Fury fight.
Anthony Joshua dropped 12lbs from the Takam fight to the Parker fight. That was 5 months.Comment

Well he’s black so at the very least he should be investigated and have his life turned inside out.Comment

it's actual closer to 10 pounds but Joshua fights have averaged a weight of 246 pounds so nothing you said makes sense. You fluctuate easier going up or down a couple pounds. Wilder going down in weight to 210 or whatever is a weight he hasn't been since he started boxing which is not a good sign at all.Wilder lost 20lbs over 2 years, you make it sound like it was over night. He even used weight as an excuse twice now for poor performance but that's what you fans do of his , make excuses.Last edited by REDEEMER; 12-19-2018, 08:55 AM.Comment

What's closer to 10lbs? Joshua is listed at 254 then 242 That is 12lbs. OP says it's su****ious for Wilder to go from 228 to 212 (16lbs) is crazy wild and has never happened, but Joshua going from 254 to 242 (12lbs) is somehow completely different?it's actual closer to 10 pounds but Joshua fights have averaged a weight of 246 pounds so nothing you said makes sense. It's not weight loss, it’s muscle loss. Both he and his trainer Deas said he lost weight muscle weight which either means he stopped working out on strength conditioning, did lots of cardio and went on diet.. which we know isn’t the case as Wilder himself says he doesn’t believe in road work and never jogs or runs and strength and conditioning is part of boxing and plenty of vids show him doing it.
Second reason which seems more plausible is steroids.. Wilder was 229lb before being enrolled into drug testing. Interesting fact is ever since drug testing Wilder’s weigh has come down in every single fight one after the other!! How on earth can a athlete lose so much muscle?Comment

it's honestly super su****ious. he's naturally a very skinny guy, that's clear. he may be naturally around 212 - 215 lbs. that muscle he had on may have been from *ahem* something.
he also could be sick. boxers fight with illnesses all the time. he's also almot surely got issues with lifting weights, he has bad a biceps tear IIRC and really doesn't have hte build for it. i bet he's sore for a week after he squats.Comment

Joshua was roughly 244 against Parker. The OP is correct. If you don't understand that it's easy to fluctuate up and down at over 245 vs a guy who was once in the mid 220's and now back down to 210 area at 6'7 10 years later at 33 then I don't know what to tell you !

Wrong.. WBC clean boxing program was introduced after Splizka fight and ever since it was introduced, Wilder has lost weight! Splizka even bough up the issue there was no drug testing for their fight and called out Wilder for not taking tests (See article below).
The heavyweight title fight between Deontay Wilder and Artur Szpilka was only made official last week, on Dec. 9, a mere 38 days before they were to meet in the main event of a Showtime broadcast at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. As of Dec. 16, with a month to go, drug testing hadn’t yet begun. Both men want it to happen, but the fact that it wasn’t yet official led Szpilka to bring up the topic toward the end of a media conference call.Comment
