Oscar has done several interviews where he stated neither GGG or Jacobs would be the opponent for May, that both have to get in line.

And Canelo said he wants to return to 160, but he's also open to defend at 168 or fight in-between both weights at a catch - which could open the door for Lemieux. Golden Boy has NOT been pushing Lemieux on every Canelo undercard, as the co-feature, for giggles. They are doing it to build a future fight between them.

People need to stop taking Oscar at his word that mother****er changes his mind all the time, just months ago he was trashing Eddie Hearn and DAZN now he's done a complete 180. And Lemieux has being featured on 3 Canelo undercards but it doesn't mean much when he hasn't fought him yet. If they were going to fight Lemieux I figure they would have just fought him in December because Lemieux is a bigger name than Fielding in the US and just as easy of a fight. Lemieux has been the supposed favorite to fight Canelo about 3 times now already and its never happened and I doubt it happens now in May.

Yup and Oscar also did a interview this phuking summer where he said GGG didn't sign we are moving on Canelo will NOT fight GGG in sept. Then 1 week later he reopened negotiations and GGG rematch was signed for sept. Even Hearn commented on this and laughed and said I think Oscar is just trying to gain leverage we are still going to try and make that Jacobs fight in May. Oscar saying stop asking me about if we booked May in Vegas for GGG we haven't talked to GGG or Jacobs probably so these guys talk about canelo fighting fielding and not other fights past it.

and the logic that since Lemieux is on the undercard then that means he's fighting Canelo is flawed and history says doesn't matter. He's been on 4 Canelo undercards and NEVER gottten the fight. By that logic we should of already seen Canelo vs Lemieux 1, 2,3 and 4 already. Meanwhile Fielding, GGG, GGG, Chavez, Smith, Khan, Cotto, Kirkland, Lara, Angulo (his last 10 fights) and none of these opponents fought on Canelo undercard to get the fight.

EXACTLY this idea that Lemieux was next is nonsense and history says the way to land canelo fight isn't by agreeing to be on his undercard. That hasn't gotten Lemieux jack. Meanwhile all these fights made without the opponent first fighting on a undercard of Canelo

Itd be nice if Boxing promoters kept standby boxers for incidents like this. Prospects should always be in fighting shape so stepping in and beating a veteran boxer could fast forward a career.

I'm one inch shorter than LEMIEUX and I got down to 140 from 180 without problems.I can still healthily cut 5, possibly 10 more pounds. How an athlete like him can't is beyond me, just irresponsible. I used to eat junk good on the daily, had the worst habits, just commited to cutting all the crap and have been on intermittent fasting for 4 years.
