You mean IF because he has not defeated Ortiz yet and maybe Ortiz beats him. Ortiz is top 5 now but not elite because the best fighter he beat was Jennings who is ranked 12th and he was KOed by Wilder. Joyce KOing Ortiz would be a great win and a good first step toward becoming elite but it doesn't make him elite because Ortiz is not elite. I think only AJ, Wilder and Fury are elite boxers at heavyweight and then just barely. Heavyweight is a weak weight class now in my opinion no matter how heavy and fat many heavyweights are today.
So when joyce knocks out ortiz is he an elite heavyweight?

I dont remember Ortiz beating anyone but Jennings, who couldnt punch. Who did Jennings beat again? I remember Ortiz failing drug tests. I remember him looking slow and ancient against Malik Scott and Dave Allen. Now Joyce will roll right over him, and Wilder fans will say Deontay ruined him, when in fact there was nothing left to ruin when he either came off PEDs or developed high blood pressure, the choice is yours on which it was 😂I remember the days on here when Ortiz was an elite HW killer who Wilder was ducking. That's when he was with GB and Hearn. As soon as he signed to PBC he became an over rated bum who never beat anyone. In contrast, Jacobs became some killer after signing with Hearn and HBO even though he had never beaten any fighter other that Kid Chocolate. BUt when he was with Haymon and Showtime Jacobs was a glass chinned bum.Comment

I'm a fan of The Juggernaut, he's a dangerous man. He's going straight for a top 5 heavyweight having not fought anything close to a top 10 contender yet, with that being said I am picking him to rise to the occasion and slay King Kong. That's a hellova fight.Comment

Yeah anybody would get alot credit for beating Ortiz unless your Wilder....Then of course they gonna say he 90 years old!Comment

I would say the top 5 heavies are elite in the divisionComment

Yeah those guys are morons, adding another hurdle to an AJ vs Wilder fight is silly. It's like saying Wilder needs to fight Why he in order to prove himself. None of these current heavyweights are elite but I think it's quite clear now that the likes of Ortiz, Whyte and Parker etc are under Fury, AJ and Wilder in the pecking orderComment
