Comments Thread For: Hearn To Wilder, Fury: We Run The Show, You Didn't Even Sell Out

Hearn talks as if AJ wouldn't earn more fighting these guys too. He talks as if the guys Joshua actually does fight would sell out arenas and do big PPV numbers vs other opponents. His excuses not to fight these guys should be excuses not to fight anyone in the division, yet AJ does fight others...so why does drawing power only affect AJ's decision to fight when it's Fury or Wilder?Comment

Joshua will always get big pay days regardless of who he fights, that is not changing. But what did change is the added option for Wilder in taking the Fury rematch. Even Barry admits the rematch will be much bigger, and knows if Wilder made around $10-15 million for the Fury fight, he will be making close to $25-30 million for the rematch. That all but eliminates their side offering a flat fee or even a weak percentage. Wilder worked his way up to a 60/40 split. Anything less and it doesn't really make sense for him to take the fight over the Fury rematch.Comment

Btw, both father and son can do all the talking they want, but eventually Joshua will overrule them. He's not going to just sit back and accept "failed negotiations" or any PR stunts and will force the fights to happen. He just better make sure he gets Wilder or Fury in April, or else he will have to wait until 2020 to get either of them. Because once Wilder/Fury rematch, they will have to take on their mandatory (Breazeale) later in 2019.
And if they wait for the rematch and it does hit a million US buys? Good look negotiating anything less than a 50/50 split with either fighter.
Interesting times indeed. A lot of this stuff I predicted months ago in my "Eddie Hearn's Big Dilemma" thread.Comment

It's good people are starting to realise what a slimy **** Hearn is.
You can tell by his words here that he's pissed off and on the defensive about his golden goose Joshua losing credibility if he doesn't fight Wilder or Fury soon.
He was saying for months that he didn't even believe Fury Wilder would happen, before they announced the venue.
It did happen and now boxing won't accept Joshua as number one until he proves it by fighting Wilder and Fury.Comment

Hearn ain’t lying... There where plenty of the 300’s section seats completely empty, the 200’s & 100’s sections where mostly full w/t a few open seats here and there but definitely not a sell out. Gotta give credit to the Brits they definitely come to support their own they where the majority last Saturday night @ Staples.Comment

They don't need Wilder or Fury for monster paydays. You know that. AJ makes 5 times more than them against anyone. I don't care about the money, I just want to see them fight each other.Comment

Fact is last weekend the best fought the best, and they keep putting AJ in with C class talent. AJ going to end up losing to 1 of these C class guys and their whole plan is going to end up backfiring. AJ is not getting any younger himself.Comment
