I don’t mind Eddie, but Barry is incredibly dislikeable isn’t he. A right old git.

He won't make five times more than what they will make in the rematch.
And I doubt he made $50-60 million vs Takam or Povetkin. Heck, maybe never has made $50 million. So yeah, definitely not making five times as much as those two just made last Saturday night.Comment

This is spot on. I could see Joshua forcing his hand at some point. I don’t believe he’s scared of facing anyone - but his promoters might be...Btw, both father and son can do all the talking they want, but eventually Joshua will overrule them. He's not going to just sit back and accept "failed negotiations" or any PR stunts and will force the fights to happen. He just better make sure he gets Wilder or Fury in April, or else he will have to wait until 2020 to get either of them. Because once Wilder/Fury rematch, they will have to take on their mandatory (Breazeale) later in 2019.
And if they wait for the rematch and it does hit a million US buys? Good look negotiating anything less than a 50/50 split with either fighter.
Interesting times indeed. A lot of this stuff I predicted months ago in my "Eddie Hearn's Big Dilemma" thread.Comment

Floyd v Conor actually had seats plenty of seats left. Anyone wanna tell Floyd that they run the show?
Truth is that AJ still brings more money to the table for a UK fight. Neither guy is getting 50% v AJ, even if everyone is talking about Fury and Wilder at this moment because they're still talking about their fight.
The tide will turn eventually though if Hearn is not careful. If these guys are fighting each other and he's not in the mix, his popularity will drop.
If Hearn is serious about AJ fighting these guys, he should make them a good offer before AJ's stock falls too much.Last edited by EasternEuroFan; 12-05-2018, 02:26 PM.Comment

I hope Dillian Whyte defeats AJ in April because at this point in time it looks like he's the one who is gonna get the fight.Comment

Yea don't believe everything Hearn says.. It wasn't long ago when AJ was ready to jump at an offer for 50 million like white on rice. I doubt he's making as much as Hearn wants people to believe.
It's like when Arum used to try an lead us to believe Pacquiao was making the same if not more than Floyd was per fight then when the truth came to light we found out he was making less than half that, and now he's with Haymon.

It's unfortunate you guys are feeling bad about the situation. If wilder had taking the risks AJ took, maybe he would have been in AJ's position. That aside, if Fury has not gone into oblivion, maybe he would have been #1. Neither of the situations were AJ's fault.
So if you want to fight the champ, you fight on the champs terms. It's boxing not a charity sport.Comment

And the majority of the upper deck was empty, actually, it even wasn't released to sale except for the middle 4 sectors.Hearn ain’t lying... There where plenty of the 300’s section seats completely empty, the 200’s & 100’s sections where mostly full w/t a few open seats here and there but definitely not a sell out. Gotta give credit to the Brits they definitely come to support their own they where the majority last Saturday night @ Staples.Comment
