Kirkland was coming off a yr of inactivity, wasn't trained by Ann wolf and last time he wasn't trained by her, he had been KO'd in 1 by a non puncher. Khan, what success did he have? He hadn't been a world champion in any division for 4 years before facing Canelo. The guy was ko'd at light weight and 140, yet was given a shot at a mw title? His stature was that he was a laughing stock for having one of the weakest chins in boxing history. Cotto is a hof guy, but he was 10 yrs older than Canelo and about 20 pounds lighter on fight night. Canelo had every conceivable advantage yet despite the typical Canelo scorecards, that was a pretty competitive match up. Ggg was still elite but clearly showed signs of slowing, and in both fights, still at 35/36 outlanded Canelo in 18 of 24 rounds. He was clearly jerked in the first fight, and the 2nd could've gone either way or realistically been scored a draw. At this point, I'm not sure if ggg beats jacobs in a rematch and think charlo has a real shot at beating him too.
