You know that the promoter/fighters get under 45% of the total revenue, right?
Huge success since most people don’t even order ppvs they pay cover to watch at bars or theaters and the streaming age is here didn’t canelo g 2 barely crack 1 mil?

1.1 million PPVs, which were over 20% more expensive than this one ($95 vs $75). Heck, it sold 200,000 less PPVs than the first one, yet made around $10 million more due to the ridiculous price tag. It also had the third highest gate in history, which probably won't be the case on this one.

Considering the amount of high profile fighters on this card, 400k is a bad number. Not a mediocre one, but not a "success" by any stretch.

EDIT: did a little research. Wilder's guaranteed purse was $4 million, Fury's was $3 million. To put this in perspective, Canelo's was $5 million, while GGG's was $4 million. The total of the undercard fighters' guaranteed purse for Canelo/GGG 2 was around $1 million, which is less than Stevenson's alone.

400k would be a bad number? Now I've heard it all.

But no word yet on the number of buys, pretty sure we will be hearing something the next few days.

Say it for the 100th time, but their target should be 300k-350k buys. Idec said the hope was at least 250k.

Absolutely it’s a success. And...quit while you’re agead if you think you’re going to school me on PPV. Or, bring it on and prepare to get embarrassed.

400k U.S buys wouldn't be a bad number for this fight.
