Wilder FAR more successful than Wladimir against Fury

The Wlad fight with Fury was similar to the Wilder one, except Wilder was able to knock Fury down twice.

Wlad got outboxed worse than Wilder did, and never even caught Fury with one single clean shot.

Fury said this was his best performance of his career and even better than the Klitschko performance. In reality, it was pretty similar but you are right. Wilder did do better than Wlad. At least Wilder was never discouraged to the fact that he didn't get out of his shell. While he is missing his big haymakers, he kept throwing them and never lost faith. Just the fact that he dropped Fury twice makes the performance better. And I think he landed more shots against Fury as well.

So yes, Wilder did perform better. But Fury was in better form vs Wlad coming into the fact, that is not debatable.

We shouldn’t ignore the context of where everyone was in their careers when they fought.

Wlad had a HoF career behind him, a million title defences, was nearly 40.

Wilder was in his prime, fresh, eager to prove himself.

Fury was in the absolute shape of his career vs Wlad, and had been for years leading into the fight. Vs Wilder he coming off 3 years inactivity, weight gain, drug and alcohol abuse, and two tunes vs complete patsies.

Just in case anyone thinks this means Wilder is better than Wlad

or putting the lineal champ, who by his own account put ont best performance of his life, down twice late while trailing huge and not being able to land much

Of course, wilder is way younger.
Wilder should have jabbed. Bit more he wanted to rely too much on the right landing.

That's just a lame excuse. Wlad almost KO'd AJ over a year later. Wlad just had absolutely nothing for Fury. Absolutely nothing. I'm not sure it means Wilder is better than Wlad but I doubt Wlad would have anything for Fury Sat either.

True, but Klitschko also fought a better Fury. He didnt fight a Fury who was out for 2.5 years, who ballooned up to 400 lbs and abused drugs. Theres also the age that has to be brought up as Klitshko was 39 years old.

                    Context is important.
