Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury - CompuBox Punch Stats

In a bout that saw Tyson Fury control large portions of the fight with his ring generalship but also saw Deontay Wilder score explosive knockdowns in rounds nine and the ultra-dramatic 12th. In the end, the bout was a poorly received split draw. Fury out-landed Wilder 84-71 overall, 46-40 jabs and 38-31 power and in the round-by-round breakdown, Fury led 9-3 in total connects and landed power punches as well as 6-2-4 in landed jabs

robbery. American boxing is corrupt. Hopefully DAZN or something based in another country takes over boxing because this is beyond ridiculous now. You go into every big American fight on US soil knowing a robbery is coming if it's at all close.

Wow. The punch stats reveal a much closer fight, round-by-round,
than most observers care to agree with. Fury landed at a higher %
but he threw less punches per round, and only out-landed Wilder by
2 or 3 punches per round. People need to rethink calling it a blatant
        robbery.

          Robbery?

One guy landed 13 punches more than another and got put on the canvas twice. In most fights that's a decisive win for the other guy. Has anyone ever won a decision for a major title while landing fewer than 100 punches and losing the canvas count 0-2?

Neither guy did enough to win. That's why a draw was the right decision.

If you take away Wilder's two knockdown rounds, he only landed 47 punches at 13% connect percentage.

Those two rounds accounted for 1/3 of his entire landed fight output.

It just goes to show you how dependent he is on power. Not a good boxer.

                    Look at round 1-4

Corrupt judge had wilder winning despite fury out landing him and we all saw wilder missing like a treadmill
