OK so you think fury won the round but should have just gotten the point taken away? Making it a 9-9 round. That is a possibility too

      ^This.

You don't win a round by getting knocked down...

I'm ok with the 10-8 rounds. Knocking your opponent over should be a big advantage.

I'm not so ok with never scoring 10-10.

We had a few rounds which were scored to Wilder and Fury by seperate judges. Really there was nothing in them but they cost Fury in the end. On one card they negated the rounds he did win clearly.

By the way, having watched the fight another couple of times, I can see how the Mexican rewarded Wilder in a few of those rounds. I still don't get to his score, but I can get Wilder ahead.

Although the Mexican judge was poor, I do not hate on the draw as he had to give a 10 8 round twice. Si 2 more rounds and its a draw. The issue here is that a lot of 10 8 rounds should be 10 9.

Take round 9in this fight and take Round 5 in Joshua Klitscko. Both rounds were 10 9 as the fighters that got knocked down actually dominate the round.

Should they look into knockdown scoring alot more and stop giving 10 8 like confetti.

          Thoughts
I agree, 10-9 rounds would have been reasonable in this situation. the 12th Id be okay with 10-8, but the 9th, Fury won every second of the round outside of the knockdown.

I think when someone gets KD even though they were winning or continue to win that round then something has to be done to compensate that boxer. Just like how 10-8 is given sometimes even when a boxer didn’t go down. Just given on the basis of conplete domination by fighter X.

Its 10 point must, knockdown gets you 1 point. 10-9 is a proper score if you knock down an opponent in a round you are getting dominated in.

Yeah I actually think it might be better to not have KDs result in -1 point but instead to just award 10-8s to dominantly won rounds in general (which would take KDs into account of course)

                  - Therefore, it's 9-8 to Wilder

I'm not saying it's right or wrong but I think that's the logic. I think it might be a fairer way of scoring rounds with flash knockdowns.
It's a 10 point MUST scoring system. That means the winner of the round MUST get 10 points - unless the ref deducts a point.

Wilder *won* the 9th and 12th. Period. So, Wilder gets 10 points.
