What heavyweight fights at other US venues were drawing bigger crowds than Wilder? We get it, boxing is more popular in the UK than the US. Good for you. Doesn't change the fact that Wilder is one of the biggest draws over here.

It's really not an impressive stat to be the second most successful fight in such a short history.
Has nothing to do with being impressive. The thread is about being the least marketable heavyweight champion of all time. There are plenty of heavyweight champions that couldn't sell over 14,000 tickets as the A-side. Or could never have headlined a PPV. Or become the biggest draw on premium cable, etc. The premise of the thread is ridiculously ******.

    Ps. Wilder isn't the A-side since it's a 50-50 fight
50/50 fights still have to have someone listed first on the poster. 50/50 fights still need to list one of the fighters' names first. 50/50 fights still need someone to walk out last.

As for whether this is even a 50/50 fight, it's interesting that Wilder's filed purse is $4 million and Fury's is $3 million, yet you call it a 50/50 fight. It's almost as if filed purses are bogus.

I definitely think he is marketable, but his team have done a piss poor job marketing him. He himself had done a lot to promote his name/brand over the last 8 months, obviously helped in part by finally stepping up and fighting better competition and aligning his name with Joshua’s name. If he had someone like Don King he would be ten times famous in America than he is now.

        That’s pretty ****ty though right

The only way wilder has gotten attention before this fight was leeching off the huge name of AJ

What other fights? Well America has zero other heavyweights so how could there be any? Having the second biggest fight at Barclays where, by the way, the gate was 2million is not an achievement at all. it's actually the opposite.

I never agreed to or said he was the least marketable champ ever.

Yeah his official purse is 4m and Fury's is 3m. Those are American TV guarantees that doesn't take Fury's guarantee from UK tv into consideration.

We all know this is not the full purse since it's a PPV fight.

Jesus wept you need closed caption to understand him.

His physique is extremely thin it doesn’t scream badass especially when guys like Tyson and Brock Lesnar have the bulky killer look.

Yes he has KOs but the only name on his resume is a very old Cuban who himself was pretty untested.

Controversy works to sell but wilder is unlikable. Floyd lived on the controversy but you always knew it was to sell fights wilder genuinely seems to be an idiot.
You come across as a hater, anyone can criticize anyone if they nitpick hard enough!

I gave you facts and you’re just offering up your opinions!

Hearns would jump on the chance to sign Wilder faster than a hooker on the Vegas strip seeing Mayweather!

Just enjoy the fight tonite and get your popcorn ready, I’m sure you’ll be tuning in!

It's a struggle to listen to him speak. Wtf do you Americans learn when you go to school?

Oh my god!! I swear on that which is holy... If one more of these Eurofans...Who are fans of the promoters and not the fighters, mentions ****** crap like how much tickets sold, how much money was made by fast Eddie, etc, I will scream!!!!

What is it with this group!? Am I missing something? When I grew up and saw Ali, we certainly cursed Don king, but we never cared about tickets, and arena size and all this garbage, we cared about the fights and the fighters,. we just didn't like when we percieved a fighter being disrespected by Cosel, or what not.

Can somebody please tell this group that Wilder's marketability has to do with how he fights, when he wins, how he wins, when he loses, how he rebounds and learns from those losses? because my fingers are getting hoarse! Trying to explain to these idiots that Hearn would not piss on them if they were on fire... And that their concern for him and for other operators is Mis....placed to say the least, and at the most? It has little to do with how fighters will appeal to fans in the future.
