I wouldn't have stopped the fight but I wouldn't have allowed that nonsense with the doctor either.
If Ortiz' round 7 was AJ in the UK, ref stops it

I agree
If that fight was in the UK it would have been stopped for sure.
In fact I wouldn’t think there would be too much of a uproar if the referee decided to actually stop it
Obviously the referee made the right decision though by allowing it to continue
I believe he also did the AJ /Klit fight
Quality refs are to far and few between in the sportComment

Well the poster Rexy explained that NYC Boxing Commission was successfully sued recently. Since then they do that kind of thing. He wrote that he's seen that in other recent fights. Who knows what's in the hearts of men?Comment

If that's the case, the ref should just stop the fight.
Changing the course of a fight via a "medical timeout" is not right imhoComment

I’m not offended the fight continued. I just don’t like being laughed at by a ****** kid who gets his ass beat by shítty kick boxers like he knows more than I do and to top it off he said Wilder was fighting back which he wasn’t.I don’t know why you’re so offended the fight continued. The fact that wilder walked back to his corner fine, had no concussion symptoms, eyes not glazed, etc.
Also, the two examples you have later were both fighters that were crawling back to their feet when the fight got waived off.
Sure you can say it could have been called off in the UK, but considering the stoppages they’ve been famous for, that’s not a good thing.
The point of this thread is Wilder is getting way too much credit for stopping Ortiz when it could have easily been stopped. Before the Ortiz fight, everybody was on board that Wilder was garbage. One fight later, he’s this knockout god which he’s not. People need a reality check.Comment
