I just rewatched round 7 and the ref was being very very VERY generous with Wilder. Very few people in the US would have complained if the ref had stopped it.

If AJ got Wilder in trouble like that in the UK, Wilder would be 39-1(1).

A number of people actually said it should have been stopped. Even his biggest fan in Nes (boxing voice) if you watch his live commentary said it should’ve been stopped.

Many forget that over time though as facts remain Ortiz lost.

For the record though I personally don’t think it should have been stopped; I do think giving him extra time to recover wasn’t on though
