Wilder looked rattled and lost his composure during the face off.

Odd that Wilder surrounds himself with a mob of thugs; he’s such a big man on his own.

And Deontay has literally fought in front of millions.

If you think this is about who is ready for the moment, you may have things a bit skewed.

As far as Wilder being emotional before a fight, aint nothin' new.
I think your wrong. Fury has been a big ticket seller for years now. He has regularly fought in front of big crowds.

He's been on ppv, he's fought the best heavyweight in the world in his backyard in front of 50k after an exhaustive build up with multiple press conferences, a full face off episode, lots of media work and everything that encompasses a big fight...Wilder has not. He may have had more title fights, but Fury's has prob had bigger fights that weren't title fights.

I think Wilder is swimming in Fury's pool right now, he'd be better off being the calm happy go luck guy and bringing a full tank into the ring.

He looked emotional there today

Wilder is indeed tough, I think we can safely say his chin is solid, on the flip side I see a lot of people sleeping on Fury's power, I think he has more pop then given credit particularly when he sits down on a shot
its a big dance....cause its his first ppv....but most of that will not be factor...once hes in the arena hes been in there in packed house before in a big fight

i was at ortiz/wilder and it was buzzing for sure....and that fight was considered a biggggggg step up for him...and a dangerous fight many though the could easily lose.....he handled it all very well....i dont think this is much different aside from it being ppv...i dont think the overall atmosphere will be much different from wilder/ortiz aside from a few more celebs and some banners that say ppv...but wilder wont even notice those things because hes pretty focused

I think wilder was a little hurt when they said wilder was shy really and he changed after stiverne fight playing tough guy.
Wilder was stuttering after that and lost voice.
He tried make upnfor it in face off. Fury win mind games.

I think it's more about burning energy in the build up which is what the thread is about. I've heard more than one elite fighter say that a big fight like this can be mentally and physically draining because of the extra media commitments. It takes some getting used to, and some fighters handle it better than others. With a fight like this, they've had a press tour, all access, face off interview, in fact lots and lots of interviews, final press conference, weigh in, etc.

Wilder might be fine, but this is a different stage. Fury went through it with Klitschko and to be honest I thought he was gonna go down in flames because he was as crazy in that build up as this one, but he seems to revel in the chaos. Wilder today is acting out of character, and for me falling into Fury's trap. If I was a fan of his I'd be much happier seeing him laugh things off and show a calm demeanour.

which is Wilder's first language? I do not think it is English.
