I can't help but feel like they should have given that billion dollars to Kalle Sauerland instead of Eddie Hearn
Has your perception of DAZN changed since it was launched?

I think you are broadly Wrong but not sure there is a official distinction between usa specially and total matchroom. Sims jnr for instance has suggested he will fight in the uk next.
Clearly with the dates in the USA I think Eddie is going to primarily want to base USA fighters in America though as it just makes sense particularly since he is more limited.
My personal view is they still need officially to sign some big fighters. PErsonally I would like to concentrate on jacobs, ggg and ortizLast edited by Kezzer; 11-27-2018, 02:58 PM.Comment

Not Really! That App is a decent APP, it is worth it for BOXING FANS BUT it is not something Casual Sports Fans particularly in the US will sign up and pay for long term for a sport they only watch when a big fight is happening
But no perception haven't changed much they're basically doing what FITE TV been doing for awhile now but with a bigger Budget behind it to sign Promoters and fighters Exclusively to their APPComment

He's not signing GGG though. Loeffler has made it clear he wants his own deal like the one GBP got. GBP didn't go through Hearn and he doesn't want to either. But there is a difference as Canelo is the biggest name stateside and GBP still has a bigger/deeper stable than Loeffler. Still, I think DAZN eventually gives in and signs GGG separate and gives Loeffler life four dates a year.I think you are broadly I don’t think there is an off i dont distinction it ion beta official distinction between usa specially. Jacobs is already his fighter and he can bring him to DAZN now that the HBO deal is up.
Since he wasn't able to sign the bigger American names he was after, I have a feeling he will have to start putting Joshua stateside once a year. So one fight in the UK, and the other in America. Only so many Big Baby headliner cards you could put on. Simply doesn't have the stable for the amount of dates he has. Will have to mix in some UK fighters fighting stateside like Joshua, Khan, etc.Comment

What was he going to do? They should have given it to someone who already has a name stateside. Doesn't mean how good Hearn is in the UK, dude had damn near no US fighters and he got 16 dates. What was DAZN expecting here? Did they think because they gave him a war chest of money he was going to attract all the big names? Sauerland would have had the same problem as Hearn.Comment

Read through the thread, the WBSS is the only thing adding any value to DAZN right now for most boxing fans. With full backing Sauerland could give us even more tournaments with even better names. The WBSS model is a breath of fresh air because it's all about cooperation. He just borrows fighters from other promotions, puts them in great fights and then lets them go again. Matchroom USA doesn't seem to offer any innovation at allWhat was he going to do? They should have given it to someone who already has a name stateside. WBSS is great for the HARDCORES. But make no mistake, the WBSS isn't adding many casual subscribers. Even if they were given the type of money HEARN was, what makes you think they would have signed the big names? Do the big names even want to participate in a tourney? That's why weight classes with lesser names are the ones in it. None of the "glamour" divisions are participating in it.Read through the thread, the WBSS is the only thing adding any value to DAZN right now for most boxing fans. Just on your point re triple G.He's not signing GGG though. Loeffler has made it clear he wants his own deal like the one GBP got. GBP didn't go through Hearn and he doesn't want to either. The point of this thread was about DAZN not Eddie Hearn. So if triple G signs with DAZN rather than Eddie Hearn the net effect should Be similar, potentially even more beneficial if event if even more dates? YOur response does seem quite typical though in that some Americans have a relationship issue with Eddie and allow them to cloud their judgement on whether they want DAZN or not? Now that is something to consider re the marketing’s of course going forward - should Eddie allow someone else to be the front man for matchroom USA and lead it from the social media aspect for instance ?Comment
