Fair enough. I don't think many would argue that the winner would be in P4P contention.Being popular and being relevant are not the same thing. Neither of these two are relevant in terms of being champs or considered elite. They are not. They are completely irrelevant for the elite fighters.
We are also talking about Floyd and a 120 lb. kickboxer. Are they relevant for boxing??? NO.
There are a lot of good match-ups that are entertaining fights. People normally pay to see the best fight though, not gatekeepers. Gatti-Ward were not ppvs.
The fact that there will be people who pay for this is only proof that those who literally worship Manny would pay to see Pac doing anything or nothing at all.
By relevant, I meant relevant for the boxing world. This fight is completely irrelevant for the top fighters. Floyd and some 120 lb. kid from Japan are also totally irrelevant for top boxers. Selling ppvs, and being relevant are not the same thing.
Also, Pac is not the last legend. Roy Jones Jr. still fights too. I also do not consider his fights relevant. Once you understand the definitions of words, you should be alright. Actual sentences alone, make you better than most of the other kids on here. Good job.
Then again, boxing is a spectator sport. People are paying for the entertainment value. It's not like track and field where the only athletes that matter are the number 1s. The story behind the fighters is important to most fans, although it might not be for you personally.
Also, as far as cash-grab fights go, this is the most exciting and competitive match-up I can remember in a while. It's an intriguing fight for a lot of genuine boxing fans. Myself included.Comment

I absolutely can not stand Broner. Having said that, I honestly think that stylistically, this is a real bad match up for Pac. Broner fights tall, doesn't bend over, doesn't reach beyond his arms length and is always on the back foot. That's a tough matchup for Pac as he's not necessarily good at or used to reaching for someone. The Mayweather fight showed that. Broner isn't in the same class as Mayweather but the styles are similar. There is a chance we end up seeing Pac reaching and missing with 1 punch at a time instead of being able to open up and throw combos like he would with someone
who fights in his range .Last edited by Awhispersecho; 11-24-2018, 08:59 PM.Comment

I'm wondering if this one will be tougher for Pacquiao than expected.
I've never bought into the Broner hype, and don't buy into the 'If only Broner was focused' talk either. He's a decent level of fighter though.
But I look at Pacquiao at 40 and 69 fights in, and start expecting him to lose fights he's not meant to, or wouldn't have done in the past.Comment

Nah brah
Even at 40 years of age, Pac will still be too active, too mobile, and too aggressive for a gun shy, stationary Broner. Pac will have Broner resetting all fight. Broner's landed punches will be in the single digits for every round. It won't even be competitive. The only chance Broner has is to perfectly time a right hook just like the one that Marquez used to KO Pac.Comment
