I enjoy that type of commentary more, like having a couple of friends over.
One thing I notice about the SKY commentators is they keep repeating the same things they said in rounds previous. It's annoying as hell.

While I dislike Mauro Rinalo, Lampley is the absolute worst. The only upside to HBO folding up their boxing program will be not having to listen to that c0kksugger.

I understand maybe 1/5th of what Barry Smith says. Welsh accent and punch drunk are a bad combination.

Boxing is a rare bird, in more ways than one. It never ceases to amaze me how the most experienced and even legendary personalities don’t seem to know nearly as much about the sport as one would imagine. At the very least they simply can’t articulate their knowledge. This is in contrast to other sports I’m very familiar with. Take baseball for instance. There are a slew of commentators who impart a wealth of information and obvious wisdom every time they open their mouths — men like Alex Rodriguez and Pete Rose, to name just two. Paulie Malignaggi is one of the precious few boxing commentators that seems to know what the hell he’s talking about. It’s just strange.
