Why take a fight for 15 mil when you can get the same fight on neutral ground for 50 mil?
    What would you do?
Wilder was not getting 50 mil in that deal, they were guaranteeing Joshua 50 mil and taking a risk themselves hoping it would do 100mil+, that was how they structured it. If the event had done $51mil then their side would've had to split the 1 mil between them.

They wanted to use the BT Sports bid and other bids to force SKY to pay for something they'd already paid for too, the rights to show the AJ fight in the UK. It might've still happened though if Hearn hadn't changed his mind about doing the fight in the US.

You assume Wilder will also be getting $50 mil?
That's just ****** for whoever invests in this fight wasting all that money in a division that's no longer attractive for casuals to watch, let alone between unrecognizable fighters.
It's a bogus offer full of unanswered questions.
Even then it was declined in favor of doing it in the UK, instead of the US.
        Which is just right.

No, the terms were 50/50 for Vegas.
          That's 50 million each.
Basic arithmetic & the offer was legit.
They sent him the contract & Hearn even confirmed the offer was legit.

Here's the issue that fighters like Ortiz and Lara have to accept: They demand the big names and the big money, but you can't have both.

You can't call out a big name and then also demand a big purse on top of it. You don't get to control that.

Lara did the same with Golovkin, he said he'd be down to fight Golovkin... but he also wanted like $1.5M-2M for the fight. Well no, you can't have both. If you want Golovkin, you'll fight on Golovkin's terms.

If Ortiz wants a big named guy, he has to fight on that fighter's terms.

He should've just taken whatever was offered to fight Whyte.

The Chisora fight was the priority for Whyte. No point in arguing or defending how or why the Ortiz fight didn’t happen.

There is too much money in that one for Dillian to turn away from it.
