Canelo was drained to a catch weight, Oscar was old and washed up, Ortiz was/is a C-rate fighter...and the list does not go on. You cannot say that a C-rate fighter has an advantage of any kind, bigger or not.

I am solely speaking on who weighs more in the ring. Fight night most guys weighed more than Floyd. That’s all I’m speaking on

I got no clue what the rules will be exactly, but based on previous mixed rules events & rumors on what a Floyd vs McConor octagon rematch was gonna look like I think any of the below are possible:

grappling allowed, but a 5 second ground rule where if a submission is not made the fight is stood back up

the kickboxer is allowed 3 or 5 or some number of kicks per round

one round of boxing, one round of kickboxing back & forth for the duration of the fight

But the main thing is I don't believe this will be a pure boxing event. There are gonna be some hybrid rules here of some sort 100%. Or if they can't agree to hybrid rules the fight just won't happen.
Maybe some modified rules, but alternating one round boxing and one round kickboxing??? Can you imagine that? Changing the sport for each new round? If its anything but pure boxing rules, Floyd is going to lose. Floyd will allow kicking only if this guy has one of his legs tied up.

Those mixed rules sound strange as hell. Almost like a game and not a real fight. A fighter can kick but only a limited number of kicks? Then if he loses he can say he would have won had he been allowed more kicks. One round boxing and then one round MMA rules. That's very strange. Mayweather should be able to KO this little guy in one boxing round. Even though he is smaller the MMA guy could beat Mayweather on the ground in an MMA rules round because of years of experience at ground fighting that Mayweather doesn't have. This could be a weird fight if they try to mix the rules of both sports.

They've had fights like that before. Its usually been viewed as the most fair way to have guys fight from different styles of fighting.

Not that I think Floyd would agree to that. I think the other two options I mentioned are more likely. Or even what the one guy brought up with only midsection kicks. I for sure would bet money there will be no unlimited kicking to the legs cuz Floyd is for sure losing if thats a rule.

If its anything but pure boxing rules, Floyd is going to lose.
Idk about that. I think cuz this guy is lighter he might be able to handle his grappling better if thats allowed. If there is limited kicking I think Floyd's hands are gonna win the day still. But for sure anything that goes away from pure boxing makes this a closer more competitive fight.

I just found out this guy is a kick boxer and not a UFC fighter so he would have no advantage on the ground and ground fighting probably won't be allowed anyway. I don't blame Mayhweather for making some more easy money. It sure will be interesting and I'll watch it as a replay when it's free.

These are fights I've seen before. People agree to them. Can't be mad about the result if you agree to the rules.

Only thing I've not seen is the fight gets stood up after 5 seconds on the ground cuz that was merely rumored to be one of the rules for the Floyd vs McConor rematch.

And I'd bet it'll be a weird looking fight lol. If this isn't some sorta glorified sparring session looking fight (aka the fix is in cuz this promotion's owner was the owner of Pride which had fixed fights from time to time) & it could be among Floyd's most competitive fights if the rules agreed to allow for the kickboxer to have some options besides boxing.
